Just a quickie... (No comment)

Don't advertise that your not at home... Save the post til your back... These toerags are just waiting to see who's away on their jollys ...
Timers for the lights &/or appliances are a great addition...

No posts for a little while as we've been very busy... But a kind reminder...

Toerag sneaky thieves are still around...
Car doors, front doors etc all being tried in the early hours...

Remember the Sher-Lock Bedtime Routine

Start outside...
Tools put away, Gates, Sheds, Garages, Out- buildings locked with the keys removed, Out of Sight but accessible

Windows... Locked with the keys removed, out of sight but accessible

Doors... Locked with the keys removed, Out of Sight but accessible

Cars, Vans etc... Windows up, locked & valuables, preferably, removed

Ensure you have an escape plan... In case of fire or worse...

Make sure smoke/Co2 detectors work...

Make sure cameras, lights & alarms all work & are used where necessary

Add additional security if you feel vulnerable... Always seek professional advice... Don't take Facebook or tik-toks word for it

Don't allow yourself to become a statistic...

Follow the Sher-Lock Bedtime Routine...

Oooooo that time of year again
Long warm days, light nights... Windows open so the house can breathe... Problem is, there's something else breathing too...

The Toerag sneak thief... Watching, waiting for you to look the other way,
"Oh it won't happen to me"... Then it does...

Time to do a bit of maintenance..

1... Put the WD 40 in the bin..
It has no place on this planet near a lock... Good for loosening nuts & bolts but not in a lock...

2... Use dry Graphite powder in your locks... Just a bit... You'll be amazed at the difference

3... Use a PTFE type spray on hinges & mechanisms... GT 84 is a good one...
(Yes I know it's made by wd40)

4... If doors &/or windows are still sticky look at the alignment... Doors are a bu**er for dropping... Especially uPVC

5... Keep your cameras & lights clean...

6... Make sure tools, ladders etc are put away & secured where possible...

7... Finally... Don't leave keys in windows or doors... Take them out, put them out of sight but, accessible if needed urgently...

Remember the Sher-Lock bedtime routine...
Plugs out, Doors & Windows Locked, Keys out...
