Thornton Roofing Thornton is a specialist contractor and fabricator of roofing, cladding, glazing, and metalwork systems. Based in Toome, Co.

Antrim, we started life as a sheet roofing family business in 1965. Over time, and built on a gratified client foundation, our services have evolved and expanded through the projects we have worked on. We now operate out of three divisions: Contracts, Metalworks and Smallworks. From the initial design phase to the post construction phase, our Contracts team can offer complete design, supply, and i

nstallation services for a variety of different envelope systems, such as Composite Panels, Roof Decking, Standing Seam, Built-up Systems, Rainscreen Facades and Metsec SFS. In 2003 we opened our Metalworks department to combat the growing need for specialised components required for the cladding industry, enabling us to shorten lead in times and enhance our quality control. Through time, our Metalworks has expanded and can now offer: Bespoke Architectural Metalworks, Mezzanine Flooring, Staircases, Handrails – and more. Our Smallworks department specialise in refurbishments, maintenance, and minor contractual work. As one of the most experienced contractors within the industry, you can be assured of a high-quality finish with a friendly service. By investing in our people, and continually improving our skills within our industry, our vision is to provide the most dependable full envelope package on the market; being known for our continued commitment to quality, safety, and trust.

Another NFRC Award under our belt.

We are delighted to announce that Belfast Grand Central Station has won the Sheeting & Cladding Category at the NFRC Roofing Awards 2026.

It is excellent to see this project receive national recognition. Belfast Grand Central Station was a technically demanding and high-profile project, and its successful delivery was only possible through the combined effort of many people across Thornton. From estimating and design through to fabrication, project management, and site installation. This award is for the team that delivered it.

It also reflects what can be achieved when the right project team is assembled. A sincere thank you to Farrans Construction / SACYR UK & IRELAND for involving us in such an important project, and to Kalzip for their support throughout.

We would also like to thank Radmat Building Products Ltd for sponsoring the award, and the NFRC for organising a great event.

On Friday evening, we hosted our annual Christmas party at the Dunsilly hotel.

It was brilliant to see such a strong turnout, including so many new faces. Bringing the whole company together in one room is always a highlight of the year and a great chance to celebrate everything we’ve achieved together.

A huge congratulations to all our award winners and raffle prize winners. Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make the night so memorable.🎄
