A long overdue Smoke Alarm replacement ๐
By "long overdue" I mean 15 to 20 years as I'm sure the existing alarm in the third picture was the original one installed in the mid to late 90's when these houses were built ๐ณ
The customer told me they had disconnected the supply to one of the alarms prior to reaching out, as it wouldn't stop randomly sounding, which is dangerous for a number of reasons โ ๏ธ
The sensor degrades over time becoming less effective or in this case completely ineffective, hence why all smoke, heat & CO2 alarms have a "Replace By/Expiration" date.
Which is usually 10 years after installationโ๏ธ
An easy job to put off, but such an important one to keep on top of ๐๐ป
Alarms changed & the customer is now protected till May 2037 โ
