🏫 Improving Spaces for Students

We recently completed a number of improvement works for Radyr school, helping to transform previously unusable areas into practical spaces for both staff and students.

🔨 Roofing Works
A small roof area was stripped and re-felted after water ingress had made the space below unusable. The completed works have now made the area suitable for the school to use for equipment deliveries once again.

🌿 Outdoor Transformation
We also transformed redundant grass areas into barked communal spaces for students to enjoy.

Previously, these areas became muddy and difficult to use during wet weather. The new barked finish provides a much more practical, accessible space that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

A great example of how relatively small improvements can make a big difference to how a space is used. 👏

🏫 Glan yr Afon Primary School – Cardiff Council

Another flat roof refurbishment project nearing completion for Cardiff Council.

The works include the installation of overlay system with a thermal upgrade, helping to improve the building’s long-term roof performance and energy efficiency.

As part of the project, we’ve also carried out:

▪️ Removal of the existing rooflights
▪️ Structural timber infills
▪️ New suspended ceilings internally
▪️ New internal lighting

The works comprised the installation of a Bauderflex insulated roofing system, complete with a extensive green roof system 🌱

Finished with bespoke powder-coated aluminium edge trims in Anthracite Grey, creating a clean, modern finish while delivering a high-performance roofing solution built to last.

The regenerated space now provides:

This week we’ve been proudly supporting Lighthouse Mental Health Week and helping raise awareness of the incredible work carried out by the Lighthouse Construction Charity.

From wearing purple throughout the office to sharing some well-deserved sweet treats with the team, it’s all about starting conversations and reminding people that support is available when they need it most.

Mental health matters in every workplace, and especially within construction, where the pressures of the job can often go unseen.

It was a huge achievement to be involved in the NFRC Awards alongside Bauder and Cardiff Council 👏

The Nant Caerau Primary School project in Cardiff, completed by J Randall Roofing Contractors using the BauderTHERMOFOL single ply system, was shortlisted as a finalist at the 2026 NFRC UK Roofing Awards in the Single Ply Roofing category.

A project we’re incredibly proud to have collaborated on, although we didn’t win on this occasion we had a fantastic time at the awards with the team!
