A light filled setting for a relaxing spa lunch at Eden Hall Spa in Nottinghamshire.

IQ Projects supplied the specialist glazing for the botanic brasserie, combining a pitched structural glass roof with glazed walls to create a bright dining space connected to the spa gardens.

Frameless effect glass was installed within the structural steel fins for a clean and classic finish, while two sets of folding glass doors open the brasserie onto the garden spa patio and surrounding facilities.

The design recreates the character of the original glasshouse, which was lost after a Lancaster bomber crashed in an adjacent field in 1942, while introducing the performance required for a contemporary hospitality environment.

Architectural glazing plays an important role in shaping the relationship between light, space and the wider building, particularly within educational environments.

The NLCS Ideas Hub and Main Entrance, designed by Walters & Cohen Architects, has been shortlisted for Education Project of the Year at the 2026 Structural Timber Awards.

The project introduces a dedicated Ideas Hub for innovation, design, engineering, art and science, alongside a new main entrance designed to provide a welcoming and secure arrival point for students, staff and visitors. Together, these spaces support the school’s evolving approach to learning, collaboration and creativity.

IQ Projects contributed to the architectural glazing package, helping introduce natural light and visual connections while maintaining the openness of the interior. The wider architectural palette combines brickwork and pale Portland stone, creating a contemporary addition that responds to the established character of the school estate and its Grade II listed Mansion House.

The project demonstrates how glazing can form an integral part of educational architecture, supporting the building’s practical requirements while contributing to its overall design intent.

Bespoke glass cut to follow the historic archways and stone columns at The Lighthouse Project in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The irregular geometry of the Grade II listed church meant standard partition systems could not be used. Each glazed screen needed to fit precisely around the existing architecture without cutting or altering the original stonework.

Following a detailed laser survey, IQ Projects manufactured shaped glass and slim aluminium frames for each individual opening. Fixed glazing, sliding and folding panels form the lower sections, with clear toughened glass cut to shape across the arches above.

Structural silicone joints and discreet fixings minimise visible support, allowing the new partitions to divide the interior while preserving the scale, stone detailing and long views through the church.

Structural roof glazing introduces natural light deeper into the extension at Maggie’s Centre Cheltenham, helping to create a brighter and more welcoming healthcare environment.

The frameless effect fixed rooflights were formed from shaped, silicone jointed glass panes. This carefully detailed solution allows daylight to reach areas where perimeter glazing alone would not have been sufficient.

IQ Projects designed and installed the wider glazing package, combining roof glazing, structural glass, and aluminium doors and windows to support daylight, movement and ventilation throughout the extension.

At Papple Steading in East Lothian, this structural glass oriel box creates a dedicated display space for historic farming equipment, connecting the building’s agricultural heritage with its new cultural use.

Frameless structural glazing set within a zinc facade forms the central glazed link at Bailiffgate Hotel in Alnwick, Northumberland.

The link connects a Grade II listed Georgian building with a contemporary five storey extension, creating a visually lightweight transition between the two contrasting architectural forms.

IQ Projects designed, supplied and installed 12 fixed frameless windows within the zinc clad structure. Concealed fixings minimise visible framing, allowing natural light to pass through the connection space while preserving views towards the historic stone building and Alnwick Castle.

Marine grade finished aluminium framing was specified for durability in the coastal location, with the RAL 7006 Beige Grey finish selected to complement the zinc cladding.

The result is a carefully detailed glazed link that supports circulation and architectural clarity without competing with the heritage setting.

New project showcase: bespoke glazed partitions at The Lighthouse Project in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The restoration has transformed the Grade II listed St Michael’s Church into a youth and community hub with music studios, art spaces and flexible facilities for local charities and community groups.

Designed by Bradley McClure Architects and delivered by Eden Build, the project sensitively adapts the historic church for its new community use.

IQ Projects designed, manufactured and installed the specialist internal glazing package, including bespoke glazed screens around the central nave, shaped structural glass within the existing archways and a large glazed partition across the altar.

Fixed glazing, sliding panels and folding doors divide the historic interior into practical new spaces while maintaining natural light, long views through the building and the character of the original stone architecture.

Solar control glass helps balance natural light and year round comfort at Maggie's Centres in the Wirral.

Large elevations of architectural glazing bring daylight throughout the centre and create a strong connection to nature, both central to the building’s focus on occupant wellbeing.

Solar control coatings were specified across the glazing package to help manage solar gain and reduce overheating without compromising natural light. Set within the highly insulated brick envelope, the glazing supports the centre’s low energy and sustainability objectives.

Delivered by the IQ Projects, the wider package combined casement windows and doors, structural glazing and slim framed sliding doors, with marine grade finishes and easy clean coatings supporting long term durability.

Structural glazing creates new connections between the historic architecture and contemporary spa facilities at Eden Hall in Nottinghamshire.

As part of the restoration and extension of the Grade II listed building, IQ Projects delivered specialist glazing for both the outdoor spa entrance and the new botanical brasserie.

The glazed link to the outdoor spa combines a three sided glass structure, structural glass roof and automated sliding doors, providing direct access to the pool while helping to maintain stable internal temperatures throughout the year.

For the botanical brasserie, structural glass and steel were used to recreate the character of the original glasshouse, which was lost after a Lancaster bomber crashed in an adjacent field in 1942. A pitched structural glass roof and glazed walls create a light filled dining space connected to the spa gardens.

A 38m run of frameless structural glazing creates pitch wide views from the first floor events space at Bught Stadium in Inverness.

Designed for the new pavilion, the two storey building brings together a ground floor Shinty museum with a first floor hall for spectating and events, supporting both match day use and wider community activity.

IQ Projects designed, engineered and installed the complete stadium glazing package, with the first floor elevation formed from long runs of silicone jointed structural glass to minimise vertical sightlines and preserve uninterrupted views across the pitch.

The wider package also included slim framed sliding doors, thermally broken aluminium entrance doors, casement windows and roof glazing.
