๐ 2026 SF PARTS โ AUSTIN JACOBS THUNDERBIKE 500 HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION โ MAX MacRAE ๐
Well, apparently you canโt have one MacRae brother winning a championship without the other getting involved tooโฆ ๐
After congratulating Luke MacRae on securing the Thunderbike 500 Middleweight title, itโs now the turn of brother Max MacRae, who has wrapped up the 2026 Thunderbike 500 Heavyweight Championship with a round still to go. ๐
Clearly nobody told the MacRae household that one championship trophy between them would have been enough. ๐๐
For anyone unfamiliar with the category, the Heavyweight class is for riders weighing 105kg+ fully kitted โ or, as Max himself rather more delicately puts itโฆ . ๐๐ฐ๐บ
But have a look at the season heโs put together:
๐ 652 Championship points
๐ฅ 25 class wins
๐ฅ 0 second places
๐ฅ 1 third place
5๏ธโฃ 1 fifth place
๐ฅ 25 victories from 27 points-scoring finishes
๐ 142-point advantage with Brands Hatch still to come
That is some seriously dominant form over a full season.
Max has been racing amongst some historically quick โ and considerably lighter โ CB500 riders, but has more than held his own in the outright races as well.
As he put it himself, itโs the close, elbow-to-elbow racing that makes these bikes so much fun.
50bhp. Big grids. Tiny margins. Proper racing.
And thereโs still unfinished business.
Max heads to the Brands Hatch Finale with the Heavyweight Championship already secured, but still with plenty to fight for in the overall ACU Thunderbike 500 Championship.
For now though, another MacRae gets his momentโฆ

Congratulations Max โ a fantastic season and thoroughly deserved.
And congratulations to the MacRae family, who may now need to start measuring up for a slightly bigger trophy cabinet. ๐๐
