Porthmadog House is a striking coastal home positioned on a sloping site in North West Wales, designed to respond to its exposed location while making the most of expansive views across the estuary and Snowdonia.

Designed by Ström Architects, the house combines locally sourced slate with a rotated corten steel upper volume, creating a robust architectural response to the surrounding landscape and coastal climate.

IQ Glass delivered the architectural glazing package for the project, including large format sliding glass doors and structural glazing that help define the main living spaces. The glazing was designed to maximise natural light, frame the surrounding views and support a strong connection between the internal living areas and the landscape beyond.

Recently recognised with a 2026 RSAW Welsh Architecture Award, Porthmadog House is a carefully considered example of contemporary coastal architecture, where materiality, setting and glazing work together with precision.

A striking glazing detail for a healthcare project with real purpose.

At The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds, eleven frameless eaves glazing assemblies create a direct glass-to-glass connection between the full height structural glazing and fixed roof glazing above.

Designed and installed by IQ Projects, the bespoke assemblies bring daylight right to the building edge while avoiding a heavier framed transition at the wall to roof junction.

The result is a clean, repeatable architectural detail that supports the centre’s focus on natural light, calm interior conditions and a welcoming, non-institutional environment for patients, families and staff.

A meaningful project that we are incredibly proud to have contributed to.

Shireburn is a large contemporary residence in Formby, Merseyside, designed by DK-Architects.

The home uses large format glazing to create a strong connection between the living spaces and garden.

The IQ Glass Northern division delivered a wide ranging architectural glazing package across the property, including ultra slim sliding glass doors, Invisio® structural glazing, roof glazing, slim aluminium casement doors and windows, a glazed link and an internal MIRO glass pocket door.

Large sliding glass doors were installed across the lounge, garden room, kitchen and dining space, garden studio and master suite, helping to open the main living areas to the garden. Structural glazing was also used to create key architectural features, including a glazed gable to the master suite and an impressive double-height frameless effect window within the kitchen and dining area.

Specified with marine grade finishes for the coastal Formby location, the glazing package brings together slim sightlines, durability and contemporary detailing across this high specification family home.

Congratulations to Graham Handley Architects on The Shearling being shortlisted for Home Transformation of the Year (up to 2,500 sq ft) at the British Homes Awards 2026.

Overlooking Eyebrook Reservoir in Rutland, the former agricultural barn has been thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary three bedroom home that remains true to its rural origins. The design balances traditional materials and detailing with modern living, creating a calm retreat connected to its remarkable setting.

IQ Glass supplied and installed the architectural glazing package, including full height slim framed sliding glass doors and tall aluminium windows. The glazing introduces natural light throughout the barn and opens the living spaces to the landscaped courtyard, gardens and long views beyond.

A thoroughly deserved recognition for Graham Handley Architects and everyone involved in bringing this sensitive barn conversion to life.

From Derelict Rectory to Award-Worthy Family Home

Set in a picturesque village in Somerset, The Old Rectory has been transformed from a dilapidated former nursing home into a light-filled contemporary family residence.

Designed by Gruff Architects, the project saw the removal of an unsympathetic 3,000 sq ft 1980s extension and its replacement with a striking new addition that carefully balances Victorian heritage with modern living.

A bespoke glazing package from IQ Glass plays a central role in the redesign, including triple-glazed Sieger® Systems XL sliding doors, Slim fixed windows, casement doors, and a series of bespoke structural glass pill windows that echo the repeating arches found throughout the original property.

The standout feature is undoubtedly the custom-shaped structural glass openings set within the new stone extension. Their frameless design maximises natural light while creating a distinctive architectural statement that seamlessly links old and new. Above, structural glass roof glazing and a bespoke apex rooflight flood the double-height interior with daylight, enhancing the sense of openness throughout the home.

Curved glass. Bronze detailing. A world-renowned address

As part of the transformation of 23 Savile Row, IQ Glass delivered the bespoke external glazing package, creating a distinctive new frontage for this luxury commercial development.

Working alongside Eric Parry Architects, MoreySmith and Signature London, our team developed a series of frameless curved bay windows that combine specialist curved glazing, bespoke bronze detailing and integrated entrance doors within a high-performance façade.

The project demanded an exceptional level of technical design and engineering, with curved glass radii as tight as 607mm, bespoke fixing systems and carefully considered thermal performance requirements. Despite the complexity of the design, the finished elevation appears effortless, delivering the clean lines and luxury aesthetic envisioned by the project team.

This external glazing package formed the first phase of IQ's involvement at 23 Savile Row, showcasing how bespoke architectural glazing can elevate a building's identity from the very first impression.

Heritage Reimagined Through Bronze Glazing

A sensitive transformation of a locally listed Victorian home in Kew Green, this project demonstrates how contemporary glazing can enhance heritage architecture while supporting modern family living. Designed by Michael Jones Architects Ltd and Linda Boronkay Design Studio Ltd., the scheme replaces a series of unsympathetic rear additions with a refined contemporary extension.

At its heart are bespoke burnished bronze Mondrian glazing systems, including five impressive arched double doors over 3.1m high. Their slender steel-inspired sightlines maximise daylight and strengthen the connection between the home and garden. Internally, an arched bronze-framed sliding screen provides flexible separation between the kitchen and dining spaces while maintaining light and openness throughout.

Complemented by oversized frameless rooflights, the project is defined by natural light, exceptional craftsmanship, and a cohesive bronze detailing palette. Inspired by Art Deco elegance and contemporary luxury, the finished home is a striking example of how bespoke glazing can become a defining architectural feature.

Finished Install in West Oxfordshire

This striking new-build countryside home has been designed around light, views and a strong connection to its rural surroundings.

Working alongside Yiangou Architects and EGV Consultancy Limited, our glazing package combines expansive minimal windows® sliding doors with Sieger® Legacy TH+ windows and doors, creating large openings, slim sightlines and a seamless transition between inside and out. Solar control glazing throughout enhances comfort and performance, while a frameless rooflight helps draw natural daylight deeper into the home.

Already, the glazing is giving a clear sense of the architectural vision for the property, framing views across the landscape and creating bright, open living spaces.

We can't wait to see the project fully completed, with the landscaping and external works bringing the whole scheme together and showcasing the true impact of the design.

A fantastic project to have been involved with.

Rev W.B. Stevenson’s House is a C-listed former manse in Edinburgh, set within two acres of mature gardens.

Designed by Zone Architects, the project involved the comprehensive repair, refurbishment and extension of the historic home, creating contemporary living space that projects into the newly landscaped garden.

IQ Glass delivered the architectural glazing package, including ultra slim sliding glass doors, slim aluminium casement windows and an Invisio® structural glass porch.

Within the new garden room extension, three sets of slim framed sliding glass doors open the kitchen and living spaces to the surrounding landscape. Integrated glass-to-glass corners help reduce visible framing and maximise views across the garden.

A carefully considered glazing package that supports the contemporary timber and glass extension while remaining sensitive to the character of the historic home.
