Another busy Saturday for JY Gardening Services Ltd 💪🌳

Yesterday we were called in to remove some Photinia shrubs that the customer had finally lost patience with! 😅

We got stuck in and:
✅ Removed the unwanted shrubs
✅ Stump ground all the remaining stumps
✅ Cleared and prepared the area
✅ Added fresh topsoil ready for new planting 🌱

We then jumped on the ride-on mower and tackled some large areas of grass, getting everything cut and looking much neater. 🚜🌱

Another garden brought back to life 💪🌱

This customer had some severely overgrown borders, with w**ds taking over and making the garden difficult to maintain.

We carried out a full tidy-up, including:

🌿 Clearing and w**ding the overgrown borders
🌳 Shaping and tidying all the shrubs
✂️ Removing lower branches from trees to improve access and allow more light onto the lawn
🪵 Installing bark chippings to help suppress future w**d growth and reduce ongoing maintenance
✨ Giving the whole area a thorough tidy and finishing touch

The result is a cleaner, tidier and much lower-maintenance garden that the customer can enjoy without the constant battle with w**ds! 🌱👌

We recently had the pleasure of carrying out a full pressure washing job at Alnmouth Golf Club (Foxton Hall) and what a difference it made!

Over the years, the seating areas had built up a significant amount of dirt, staining, and grime. Our team carried out a thorough deep clean, including:

✅ Pressure washing all seating areas
✅ Cleaning out all gullies to improve drainage and appearance
✅ Washing all outdoor furniture, including chairs and tables

🌿 Temporary Job Opportunity – Immediate Start (Potential for Permanent Position) 🌿

Due to unforeseen circumstances, JY Gardening Services Ltd is looking for a reliable, hard-working individual to join our growing team on a temporary basis as soon as possible.

For the right candidate, this role has the potential to develop into more hours and a permanent position as the business continues to grow.

📍 Work in and around Alnwick & Northumberland

A large part of this role will involve covering our busy regular garden maintenance schedule, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in producing work to a consistently high standard.

Typical duties include:
🌱 Lawn mowing
🌱 Strimming
🌱 Weeding borders to a high standard
🌱 Pruning shrubs and plants
🌱 General garden maintenance and tidying
🌱 Hedge cutting (where required)
🌱 Assisting with fencing and landscaping projects from time to time

We're looking for someone who:
✔️ Holds a full UK driving licence (essential)
✔️ Can work independently, use their own initiative and maintain a high standard of work
✔️ Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in every job
✔️ Is reliable, punctual and hard-working
✔️ Is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions
✔️ Has good time management skills
✔️ Has experience in gardening or landscaping (preferred but not essential – a willingness to learn is equally important)
✔️ Has experience using petrol-powered garden machinery such as lawn mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers (preferred)
✔️ Is able to tow a trailer (desirable, but not essential)

This is a great opportunity for someone practical, motivated and looking to gain experience with a friendly, growing local business. If you're the right fit, we'd love for this to become a longer-term role with increased hours.

It's been a little while since we've posted on our social media, but that's because the team at JY Gardening Services Ltd have been working tirelessly around the clock to keep up with a very busy schedule. We'd also like to thank everyone for their patience while we work through the growing number of enquiries and quotes—we're a little behind, but we'll be with you as soon as possible!

Here's one of our recent transformations in Alnwick...

This garden was in need of a good tidy-up, and we're delighted with the finished result!

✅ Removed an overgrown conifer that was blocking natural light from the garden.

✅ Stump ground the remaining stump to completely eradicate it.
✅ Pruned and tidied the existing shrubs to give the garden a much neater appearance.

✅ Removed the old, dirty gravel and installed a w**d control membrane before laying fresh 40mm plum slate for a clean, modern finish.

✅Pressure washed the block paving path and driveway before re-sanding the joints to bring them back to life. The end result is a brighter, cleaner and much more enjoyable outdoor space for our customer.

We're also incredibly grateful to have received such a fantastic review following the work.

We removed an old rotten 3-foot fence and replaced it with a brand-new 5-foot boarded fence, giving the garden added privacy, security, and a much smarter finish. We also included a boarded section to neatly hide away the bins.
