From Start to Finish

A recent project completed for Wharf Farm, manufactured in Wet-Cast Limestone.

From preparing the reinforcement cages and fitting them into the timber moulds to the final product, every stage plays an important role in the manufacturing process.

These retaining walls were cast upside down to achieve a high-quality finish on the visible faces, with quality checks carried out throughout the process to ensure the finished units meet the required standards.

🔴 Throwback Thursday: Bournemouth Seafront Development

This Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at a project completed by Amber Valley Stone in 2015 as part of the redevelopment of Bournemouth’s seafront.

Working on the Bournemouth Pier Approach scheme, Amber Valley Stone designed and manufactured 54 precast planters and six feature islands, incorporating bespoke embossed marine patterns inspired by the coastal setting.

A project from over a decade ago, but still a great example of the versatility of architectural precast and our ability to deliver bespoke solutions for challenging public realm projects.

🔴 Project Spotlight: Jephson House, Leamington Spa

We're proud to showcase our contribution to the restoration and redevelopment of Jephson House in Leamington Spa – a striking Neo-Gothic property dating back to the 1850s.

Working closely with Spitfire Homes and Thrive Architects, Amber Valley Stone supplied bespoke cast stone elements for both the restoration of the existing building and the new-build properties. Careful consideration was given to the existing stonework to ensure the new elements complemented the character and detailing of the original building.

In total, we manufactured and supplied approximately 20 tonnes of cast stone, consisting of both Semi Dry Cast Stone and FRCS, finished in Bathstone. The FRCS elements were used for the entrance door surrounds to two of the new-build townhouses.

This project is a great example of how careful design, technical expertise and high-quality cast stone can help bring together historic restoration and modern development, creating a finished scheme that respects the character of the original building.

🔴 Throwback Thursday: Flood Defence Walling, River Mersey, Warrington

This Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at a project completed by Amber Valley Stone in 2015 as part of the flood defence scheme along the River Mersey in Warrington.

Working alongside VolkerStevin for the Environment Agency, Amber Valley Stone designed and manufactured 560 metres of architectural precast concrete walling for the scheme.

The walling incorporated a variety of bespoke finishes, including acid-etched and exposed aggregate surfaces, as well as recessed lettering and artwork using inset coloured tiles.

A project from over a decade ago, but still a great showcase of the versatility and capabilities of architectural precast.
