The clocks go back next weekend, and this living room in Farnham is ready for it 🔥

The old carpet came up first, then we laid an electric underfloor heating system across the room. Next the floor was latexed, which levels everything off so the new flooring sits perfectly flat, and then we glued down this herringbone. You’ll never see the latex once it’s done, but skipping it is how you end up with hollow spots and a pattern that looks slightly off.

Electric underfloor heating is a really good shout if you’re replacing a floor anyway, because it goes in underneath without needing changes to your boiler or radiators. Warm feet on a January morning instead of cold carpet is hard to argue with 🙌🏼

Like for like ⚖️ comes up on nearly every quote we give, and it simply means replacing what's already there in the same spot, which tends to be the quickest and most affordable way to do a bathroom. As soon as a toilet or shower moves it becomes a bigger job, because the plumbing has to move with it and the price goes up to match.

Bathroom Transformation 🪄😍

A fun fact from this Sunbury bathroom, only one tile in the whole room didn’t need cutting, and every other one had to be cut to fit 😅 It’s a lot of work, but it’s a big part of why the finished room looks so amazing.

We added a walk-in shower with a bench seat and a wetroom tray, a new bath with its own niche, a wall hung basin and toilet, and a recessed mirrored cabinet, with underfloor heating throughout including the wetroom area and brushed brass fittings to finish it off.

Joel and George managed the whole job from start to finish.

Who's actually doing the work, is it the person who quoted you, or will it get handed off to subcontractors you've never met? What happens if something goes wrong once it's finished, and how long is that covered for? Is the price fixed once agreed, or does it tend to creep once work starts?

Under stairs transformation 🪄

If you've got a cupboard under the stairs full of coats, shoes and a hoover you hardly use, this one's for you...

We've just finished turning this under stairs space in Weybridge into a downstairs WC. When we started, there was old pipework boxed in around the walls, taking up room that a space this small really can't give away.

We removed the boxing and fitted a concealed cistern, so the toilet hangs off the wall with nothing on show. We did the same with the basin, which is wall-hung with the tap set into the wall above it. Keeping the floor clear makes a surprising difference to how big a small room feels.

Once that was done, we panelled the walls, ran the flooring straight through and decorated throughout 🤩
