DID YOU KNOW... having a separate toilet and bathroom dates way back to the 19th century?
When water was first piped indoors people put a toilet in a closet, hence it being referred to as a "Water Closet" (WC). They later added baths and basins to small spare rooms.
The idea of two rooms stayed for a long time in houses built into the second half of the 20th century.
You don't need to keep this layout though, with having to go into an adjacent room to wash your hands after using the toilet. You can knock through into one big and airy room, bringing a bathroom (or in this case shower room) firmly into the 21st century!
