Another job completed by AH Stonework & Building.
The customer was experiencing damp problems with this property. The old cement render was trapping moisture and preventing the traditional stonework from breathing properly.
We:
🔨 Removed all existing cement render
💨 Sandblasted the stonework back to its original finish
🧱 Repointed the entire area using traditional lime mortar
Using lime mortar allows moisture to naturally escape through the joints, helping the building breathe rather than trapping moisture behind hard cement-based materials.
A massive transformation and, more importantly, the right treatment for an older stone property.
We also lime rendered the inside to help tackle the damp correctly from both sides — photos of that work to follow in another post.
