🔧⚡ A LITTLE INFO ABOUT OUR CALL-OUT TIMES ⚡🔧

With the busy season upon us, we thought we’d explain how our call-out time slots work for our customers.

These time slots have always been in place and help us organise our engineers’ days and attend as many customers as possible.

🔧 PLUMBING & HEATING

🕗 8am–9am — First call
🕗 8am–12pm — Morning calls
🕛 12pm–4pm — Afternoon calls

⚡ ELECTRICAL

Our electricians work to the same call-out time allocations as our plumbers and heating engineers:

🕗 8am–9am — First call
🕗 8am–12pm — Morning calls
🕛 12pm–3:30pm — Afternoon calls

📌 PLEASE REMEMBER

These are time windows rather than exact appointment times. Our engineers can be dealing with jobs that take longer than expected, emergencies or unexpected issues throughout the day, which can sometimes affect arrival times.

We’ll always do our best to keep you informed and get to you as quickly as possible.

Gogs has been out on the tools installing a new hot water motorised valve 🔥💧

A small component that plays an important part in controlling your hot water system — when these valves start to fail, you can soon notice problems with heating or hot water.

🏚️ OLD BUILDINGS HAVE SECRETS… 🕯️
There’s something about old buildings that makes you wonder what’s hiding behind the walls.
Forgotten staircases. Bricked-up doorways. Hidden passages. Tiny rooms tucked beneath floors or behind false walls… and sometimes entire underground spaces that feel almost catacomb-like.
Places that once had a purpose, but over decades were sealed away and forgotten.

Every business has a story… and ours started with one man, one van and a vision. 🚐🔧

Back in 1979, Raymond Colville founded R&D Services in Aberdeen, starting out as a small plumbing and heating business.

What began with one van has grown over the years into a family-run, multi-trade business, supporting homes, landlords and businesses throughout Aberdeen and the North-East of Scotland.

From those early days, R&D has continued to grow — adding electrical, gas, and multi-trade services to what we can offer our customers.

But while the business has changed and grown, some things have stayed exactly the same…

Check your engineer’s ID card

Gas Safe registered engineers carry an ID card. This could be a physical card or a digital card. If an engineer does not show you their Gas Safe ID card when they arrive at your property, don’t be afraid to ask to see it.
