What if one of the biggest hidden sources of industrial waste was... light?
A colour approved in one location and rejected in another. A defect visible in one light booth and invisible in the next. Every day, critical decisions about colours, materials, finishes and perceived quality are made under LED lighting systems whose visual performance is still poorly understood.
At COLOR THE LIFE, we believe this situation must change.
We do not sell light booths. Our mission is to help industries make better decisions about colours, materials and perceived quality, improving product consistency, supplier alignment, environmental impact and economic performance.
This is why, together with Sophie Jost from the ENTPE Laboratory (University of Lyon and French representative of the CIE Color & Vision Division), we are launching the next phase of the Study.
We are recruiting a panel of only 10 experts. During a 1.5-day laboratory session, participants will evaluate 8 anonymised LED light booths, assess colour accuracy, material appearance, finish perception and defect detection, and test their own samples under each booth.
‼️ The objective is not to rank manufacturers, but to identify the lighting characteristics that best support reliable visual quality assessment.
Participants will receive the full study results and contribute directly to future recommendations for specifying light booths based on technical requirements rather than product names.‼️
If you work in colour, materials, finishes, design validation or perceived quality, your expertise belongs in this conversation.
The session will take place in Lyon in autumn 2026 (October or November), over one and a half days:
Afternoon: 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Networking dinner (included)
Morning: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Participation is €500 excl. VAT per person (two person max per company). Only 10 spots are available.
Let’s stop adapting to lighting. Let’s define the lighting that industry actually needs.
