🇬🇧 Autumn, but make it Linen. 🍂

As the season shifts, Linen reveals another side of its character.

Heavier weaves, velvet, textured curtains, soft throws and generous fabrics bring warmth, depth and tactility to interiors.

Natural tones, mineral shades and rich textures create a quieter, more enveloping atmosphere for autumn.

European Linen, in every season.

---------------------------------

🇫🇷 L’automne, version Lin. 🍂

🇬🇧 Plot twist: Linen is staying for autumn. 🍂

A change of season doesn’t mean saying goodbye to European Linen.

As autumn settles in, Linen reveals new textures, deeper tones and a more enveloping character, bringing natural elegance to the season.

New season, same fibre.

---------------------------------

🇬🇧 A look back at “Building with Nature”, an event organised by Procédés Chénel in collaboration with the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & H**p.

On 15 September, designers Victoire Lesthevenon and Simon Searle, winners of the 2026 Design Parade Public Prize, shared their approach to working with European Flax-Linen and H**p during the conference “European Flax and H**p: materials, design and architecture”.

The discussion was moderated by Bruno Pech, Innovation Project Manager at the Alliance, who highlighted the Alliance’s role in supporting designers in their exploration and understanding of European Flax-Linen and H**p materials.

The conference also featured a wall light showcasing a pleated design made from Linendrop, a paper-like nonwoven material developed by Procédés Chénel, composed of 65% Flax and 35% viscose.

A great example of the potential of European flax and h**p as creative materials for design and architecture, enabled by processes that bring their technical performance and aesthetic qualities together.

[ ] 🇬🇧 Did you know? Decathlon has designed a bike frame bag made with European natural Flax-Linen fibre.

To develop this product, Decathlon chose to follow the Flax-Linen thread, meeting the people involved at every stage of its transformation.

At first glance, it is a bike bag. In reality, it is a project that invites us to explore new ways of designing, producing and telling the story of everyday objects.

From the Flax fields between Normandy and the Netherlands, to scutching in France, spinning in Poland, weaving in northern France and assembly in the Czech Republic, this bag tells the story of a 100% European value chain.

By train, night train, bike and sometimes by car, Decathlon set out to meet the people who grow, process, weave and assemble the material.

🇬🇧 From Flax stalk to animal bedding. 🌿

European Flax-Linen has more than one story to tell.

During scutching, the fibres are separated from the woody part of the stalk. These small woody particles, known as shives, can then be given another use: animal bedding.

A simple yet lesser-known example of how Flax-Linen extends far beyond textile applications, and that 100 per cent of the plant is utilised, thereby opening up new possibilities.

---------------------------------

🇬🇧 A medieval masterpiece, woven into history through Linen. 🌱

The Bayeux Tapestry is more than an extraordinary historical document: it is also a powerful reminder of the role Linen has played in preserving stories, craftsmanship and culture across centuries.

As the work begins a new chapter in London, its Linen canvas embroidered with wool threads continues to carry a narrative almost 1,000 years old.

---------------------------------

Swaths, bales, yarns, fabrics: a journey shaped by nature, expertise and transformation.

A new season begins, right where it all starts: with the fibre.
