La lumière comme matière

Projet : Maison individuelle

Lieu : Ouagadougou

Client : Mr Koné

Terrain : 240 m²

Derrière le rideau noir des lignes de métal,

S’efface la rumeur du monde et de la rue.

La pierre se fait temple, austère et minérale,

Pour abriter l'éclat d'une clarté perdue.

Et la maison s'entrouvre en un secret de verdure.

Le ciel tombe en figure carréé sur le sol,

Où la fleur sauvage épouse la roche.

Le jour dessine au mur des géométries d'or,

Quand la nuit s'illumine en lignes de lueur.

Dans cet abri secret où le tumulte dort,

L'espace devient souffle, et le temps devient douceur.

A Legacy of Light

From the entrance, the gaze is captured by a diffused clarity that seems to emanate from the walls themselves. This is not a harsh light, but a caress that evolves with the passing hours. In the living room, it seeps through invisible slits, settling upon the volumes with the precision of a paintbrush. It sculpts the angles, softens the perspectives, and gives the void an almost palpable depth.

The Rhythm of Silence

The space is articulated like a musical score. Horizontal lines stretch to expand the interior horizon, while verticals guide the spirit upward.

The Transition: The layout becomes a column of light, a sacred wandering where each step carries us away from the tumult and toward absolute serenity.

The Opening: The boundaries between inside and outside blur. The sky invites itself into the room, not merely as a view, but as a presence, fragmented by cast shadows that draw a perpetually moving geometric carpet upon the floor.

The Poetry of Dwelling

Under the pergola, shadow becomes a texture. It is not the absence of sun, but its manifestation. The space is vast, open to the winds, inviting the mind to wander without ever encountering an obstacle. In the bedrooms, the volume draws closer to offer protection - an intimacy bathed in a muted glow that invites the eyes and the soul to rest. Everything here is an invitation to contemplate the passage of time, underscored by the journey of a sunbeam slowly traversing the room, marking the rhythm of life.

Project focus : Chapel

Beneath the vast sky of Ouagadougou, where the ochre earth meets the infinite azure, a slender silhouette rises—like a breath suspended in the heat of the Sahel.

This chapel is not a monument, but a refuge. It is a hand extended to childhood, a shelter of brick and wood born from the dust and human ingenuity. Its earthen walls, anchored in ancestral soil, speak of the land's strength, while its airy roof seems to float, capturing the breeze to offer children the caress of a rediscovered coolness.

Here, architecture becomes silence. The steady rhythm of the columns plays with the light, carving shadows into fragments of peace. Between the brick walls and the void of the desert, boundaries dissolve: the gaze wanders, inviting the soul to travel far beyond the walls, toward that endless horizon where everything becomes possible.

It is a place of prayer, play, and dreams, where human humility dialogues with the grandeur of the world. A sanctuary of serenity, simply resting on the sand, so that every child may find their own star.
