Few more snaps of the new steps but this time from the drone 😍… with the water level being 3.5ft down it was the perfect opportunity for us to remove any old wood, scaffold tubes, posts or concrete which was left over from the old swims… we obviously couldn’t see them in the winter when the water level was up…. Our goal was fish safety, customer safety and building something which can withstand the test of time…. I think we ticked all 3 box’s ☑️… Again thanks to Jake at J.K engineering for his architecture we couldn’t of done it without him 🤝 🍾🇫🇷

So here we are for all our efforts last week! 🔨💪🏻…. This little job we had been planning to do the last couple of years and we was hoping that a late summer week would finally become available as it would be our best chance of low water level… well we couldn’t of planned it any better as this has been the driest summer I can ever remember…. This made things much easier when climbing under the platforms to removal all the old swims & steps…. Our original plan was to build 11 x 1.2m platform/landing stage in every swim, it soon become apparent on arrival that this wasn’t going to work when the water level was this low… anyhow the plan had now changed into double platforms in each swim (double the work) 😅…. With only 6 full days at our disposal we decided to focus on the 6 pegs everyone fishes I.e 2,3,5,6,8,9. We thought if we nut these out anything more was a bonus…. In the end we managed to get all these pegs done and we had enough time for single tier platform in pegs 1,7 & 10…. I’m chuffed with the result…. I want to say a massive thank you to all the lads involved last week but a extra special thanks to Jake at Jk engineering, Roger Appleby & Mark Lake Beauregard we could of never of done it without you boys 💪🏻…. Not forgetting Ian & Nade for taking care of us all week & my old mucka Terry who had us in tears of laughter all week 😂… I do have some drone shots which I’ll download and upload later this week 😉 🍾🇫🇷

Catch report for 12th - 19th September 2026…. 6 guys on last week with a total of 41 carp landed…. The boys from Hastings (1066 crew) were back!..These guys have been regulars for many years and they always seem to smash it!… Certainly the last 3 seasons since iv owned the lake these guys have always managed to catch the record for the most fish out in a week… The previous owner Lee said they use to do the same when he owned it… So the pressure was on this week to retain their title 👀🏆… the guys started fast and was very much on target, however the last 24hrs of the session it slowed up and they fell just short of the record this year… but a amazing effort all the same 👏… the tactics are never anything too out of the ordinary…. Keeping the swim topped up with bait and and making the use of the throwing stick 💪🏻… the guys obviously know the lake very well by now….. Highlights of the week was Paul in swim 9 with a pb common at 60.08lb 🙌🏻🥂… Dave in swim 8 had a trio of nice fish 64.08lb, 57.06lb & 50.00lb 👏… Dan in swim 2 had fish of 59.00lb, 58.00lb, 57.08lb & 53.08lb 👏… Kev in swim 5 also had a nice common just ounces under 60lb 👏….. hats off to all the guy’s they always put in they effort!… they always get the rewards! 😉… another great week lads 😎🙌🏻

Catch report for 29th August - 5th September 2026…. 2 guys on last week with a total of 7 carp landed…. The guys knew it was going to be tricky with just the 2 of them. They decided to fish pegs 8 & 9 to try cover as much water as possible. The carp did there usual trick of holding up anywhere there where no lines. Mark in peg 8 did however manage to catch a pb common which is one of our new Czech fish at an impressive post spawn weight of 65.00lb 👏…. The guys somehow also managed to catch the same 51lb mirror twice in 24hrs 🤯

We stocked 20 new fish this week from our stock pond at Bluewater lakes. We were astonished to see how big these fish have grown this year!… 2 years ago all these fish were between 6-12lb now they are all 28-38lb 😮…. These are summer weights aswell remember!…. We have another 85 of these beauties in our stock pond which are all stacking on the weight and will be introduced over the next few years 😉… thanks to all the lads involved Carpers Journal 🤝

Catch report for 22nd - 29th August 2026…. 2 guys on last week with a total of 4 carp landed…. Sadly it was very tough going last week… we have seen it many times before that less angling pressure can be more of a disadvantage than an advantage. The guys did everything they could including fishing opposite ends of the lake in the hope to cover as much water as possible…. the carp always seem to be anywhere there are no lines. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1 x 40 to 47lb
3 x 30’s to 38lb
