Re: To the new-comers to 12 step program members & those who are new to Rainbow🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Groups at Kyttälänkatu.
1. This is a far more(AA SERVICE MANUAL) comprehensive coverage of how in general 12 step rooms are upkept.
As all programs reminding us. These are BUT SUGGESTED steps and traditions.
Guidelines in keeping groups together.
2. Why we have also registered with AA.ORG day 1 onward as we are Registered with the other ACA AL-ANON. On an EU LEVEL & North America.
WE ARE only listed in the Finnish pages.
We are a English speaking set of LGBT+ 12 STEP MEETINGS.
(YOU can share in the language you feel comfortable in. We can always translate back and forth if need be)
3. WE ARE Gender Inclusive. You do not have to identify as LGBT+ to attend our meetings.
This is LGBT+ Empowered & directed by the 12 step LGBT+ community.
It is about;
Building Bridges Together today, for Tomorrow.*
4. We are also listed in many other countries as part of our outreach work.
Our registries(AA, AL-ANON, ACA) are so that what happens at Rainbow🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Groups at Kyttälänkatu is autonomous/independent.
5. We aren't "church" nor do we use the literature as a "form of Dogma directed" as one would find in a church setting.
It's a program experience and we all are here for 1 sole reason.
To recover from our wrongly learnt life lessons & hand in hand 12 step outreach work.
We are all very human and that is the redeeming aspect of all the programs. I know when I walked into my first LGBT+ AA Meeting I for the first time felt validated acknowledged as a human being. As many millions of LGBT+ Friends have found walking into a LGBT+ 12 STEP program(s) rooms.
6. It's that tradition we set forth day 1 onward.
7. We have had and have a very large support network that's supported us, me, from day 1 onward.
It's with their advice and guidance that we have managed to keep in place what we have set out to do. With history spanning an excess of 60 years.
8. Why it's important that newcomers understand the core values and foundational issues Why Kyttälänkatu exists.
9. All the groups that we have opened up. Are all under one umbrella

No group is an outside groups.
This is ans Will always be this way.
It was and is our intent.
We went into the agreement that no outside groups would ever be opened at our group room. Every group thats been set up is solely by us & only us.
ACA AA AL-ANON presently their sole purpose was to do outreach work for the LGBT+ Community here in Finland.
We set them up that way with the spirit of love and Inclusiveness from our LGBT+ perspective.
10. I would suggest that everyone read what is at the inside entrance on the two walls.
They are not there for some cute historical purposes. Their the very foundations we began the 12 step work here in Finland.
(AND continue in the same manner)
11. This and these foundational aspects are fixed aspects of what and why we are here.
Doing outreach work. 12 step work.
Giving voice to the silent minority (LGBT+) here within the Finnish 12 step community.
ITS WHY we have various LGBT+ 12 STEP literature here on chat & the group rooms.
ACA as one example. Prior to it arriving here in Europe & Finland. The LGBT+ 12 Step community saw its need to have groups addressing these issues from the LGBT+ perspective.
This will also be intertwined into all our meetings at Kyttälänkatu.
12. Been very aware of the assumptions made by new-comers and new comers to Rainbow 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈Groups at Kyttälänkatu
To some it might be bothersome.
13. These are what was decided in 2008. They will not be diluted to appease personalities.
(There is no room for passive-bigotry within our experience.
Recently, having read it on chat to some Finns walking in & making derogatory comments.) Within our rooms.
As Bill W. Said a number of times:
The 12 step rooms are not for baby-sitting ego's..
Let alone being "people pleasers"
14. We did the do work. Every fork, spoon, chair to ... we slowly built it to what it is today. (If we had done it the Finnish way. We would not have bought our first fork by now)
We very specifically do it our way. What happens in other groups here in Finland and abroad. Its their business in how they operate as ours is our way we do what we do.
15. It would have been lovely if the straight 12 step community was helpful in this.. they were not.
16. While there is still passive-bigotry to downright blatant misogynistic homophobic/racist tansphobic behaviours on the loose within the 12 step community.
Our groups will exist.
Maybe one day it'll be different. We began with hopes that this will change. Its not that day yet.
17. This will be listed onto our 12 step pages on social media. (Again)
18. Yes I know I am one of the few visible Q***r members at Kyttälänkatu. The hundreds of 12 step LGBT+ Members have always been a part of this venture.
They in fact as older 12 step members (for the first 8 to 9 years) had helped in getting the medallions to us.
Who have through their 7th traditions gifts helped buy all that we have today. .(including the computer equipment that was stolen last summer)
We put our foot forward one foot at a time. Doing the do work. The 12 step work. Hoping you'll join in on this very serious business of helping others find continues sobriety on all levels.
19. If, you choose to step away. You are loved and you are welcome at our group rooms. When choose to drop in.
If, you choose not to particpate on an active level and remove yourselves from our group activities including our now two pages we have here on WhatsApp.
You are not loved any less. Its your honesty that is appreciated & loved.
If your a member of another group, as all groups have their own pages and meeting rooms. Maybe stay with your group you are actively involved in.
If you do stick by us(all) we want you to be active at the group rooms, outreach work and yes here on our(all) on now 2 whatsap pages.
These are meant for active members. We are highly aware of how many hang on out of only being " social-voyerists " we do not condone this at any point.
20. We do have boundaries, please respect them.
understanding why who when what we are all about. You are loved.
