Wood is good.

The feel. The scent. The grain. The whole experience.

At Hetki, wood isn't just a material. It's the essence.

Our saunas are built from solid Finnish spruce logs. Thick, carefully selected logs that retain heat naturally, withstand moisture, temperature changes, and everyday use, and age beautifully.

But above all, it's about the experience. The solid logs absorb and store heat, gradually releasing it back into the sauna. This natural thermal mass helps create a pleasant, even warmth and contributes to the soft, enjoyable löyly that makes a Finnish sauna so special.

Every knot and curve tells its own story. No two pieces are alike, and that's exactly the point.

Because wood is unique. Just like you are.

One step from the sauna.🔥One step into the lake.🌊

A wood-fired sauna, a refreshing dip in the lake, beautiful views and good company. What more could you ask for?

📍Lahden Nosturi, Lahti, Finland

Lahden Nosturi is a unique year-round waterfront destination in the harbor of Lahti, combining a restaurant, summer terrace and several saunas in a beautiful lakeside setting. And in winter, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the icy lake through a hole in the ice.

Together with Savorak Oy, we at Hetki have combined genuine log saunas with Savorak's pier expertise. Both companies have their roots in Rantasalmi, in the South Savo region, a place where water, sauna and craftsmanship have always belonged together.

Löyly loading.

Welcome weekend!

*****

Löyly is the essence, the soul, of a Finnish sauna.
It is the heat and steam created when water is poured over hot stones. And this is also why a Finnish sauna is not a dry sauna. Water belongs on the hot stones.

But löyly is more than steam. It is the feeling of the warmth, the atmosphere in the room, and the experience shared with others.

In Finland, we ask, "Was the löyly good?" Not how many degrees it was, how long you stayed, or how many rounds you did. What matters is how it felt, how you feel.

*****

This pictured Hetki Sauna has a mystical interior. Black interior walls create depth and calm. The benches are hand-carved from Finnish aspen, smooth and soft to the touch. Light meets dark. Heat and rocks meet wood. It is powered by an impressive Finnish-made Narvi Finland heater, their Peak model. And, of course, wonderful löyly guaranteed.

Happy European Day of Languages!

"Sauna on köyhän apteekki."

It’s an old Finnish saying that translates as: "The sauna is the poor man’s pharmacy."

It reflects how deeply sauna has traditionally been woven into Finnish life. Long before modern wellbeing became an industry, sauna was a place for washing, warmth, rest and recovery, and a place where people turned when they wanted to feel better. The saying isn’t medical advice, of course, but it says a lot about the role sauna has played in Finnish culture for generations.

The European Day of Languages was launched in 2001 by the Council of Europe and the European Commission as part of the European Year of Languages. It has been celebrated every 26 September ever since, promoting language learning, linguistic diversity and greater understanding between people and cultures.

This year’s theme is "Languages unite!"

We think that fits sauna rather beautifully.

Sauna brings people together, too. Around the world, people with different languages, cultures and backgrounds sit down on the same wooden bench, throw water on hot stones and share the same löyly.

And did you know that sauna is the only Finnish word that has been adopted as is into English and many other languages? A fitting symbol of our cultural impact.

Languages unite. So does sauna.
