🍂 September is autumn foliage (ruska) season in Kuusamo!

The forests around Isokenkäisten Klubi are beginning to turn shades of yellow, orange and red, and the best weeks of autumn foliage are just ahead. September is a beautiful time to gather together, enjoy the northern nature and share a good meal.

🍽️ Restaurant Klubi welcomes groups for lunch throughout September. Whether you are travelling with friends, a tour group or planning a business day with colleagues, you can book a group lunch and enjoy home-cooked Finnish food inspired by local ingredients and the flavours of the season.

💼 For businesses and work groups, lunch can also be combined with a meeting, team activities or a relaxing sauna experience. Spend the day together away from the usual surroundings and enjoy the peaceful Kuusamo wilderness.

🌿 And with autumn foliage (ruska) approaching its most colourful weeks, September is a wonderful time to combine your visit with some time outdoors.

✨ Meille Isokenkäisten Klubilla yrittäjyys on ennen kaikkea elämäntapa. Se on vuosien työtä, rohkeutta tehdä asioita omalla tavalla ja vastuuta siitä, mitä jätämme jälkeemme niin luonnolle, paikalliselle kulttuurille kuin tuleville sukupolvillekin.

🌿 Vastuullisuus on kulkenut mukana Klubin tarinassa alusta asti. Haluamme vaalia Kuusamon luontoa, paikallisia perinteitä ja vanhaa rakennusperintöä. Vanhat rakennukset ovat saaneet uuden elämän, ravintolassamme hyödynnämme sesongin raaka-aineita ja paikallisia tuotteita, ja vieraillemme haluamme tarjota aitoja kokemuksia luonnon, ruoan ja suomalaisen saunakulttuurin äärellä.

🇫🇮 Today, 4 September, we celebrate Finnish Food Day, dedicated to Finnish food, local ingredients and the people behind them.

🍂🍽️ September is harvest season in Kuusamo – a time for local food, forest flavours and soon the first colours of autumn foliage (ruska.) At Restaurant Klubi, our food is rooted in local traditions and the surrounding nature. Home-grown potatoes, berries from nearby forests, fish from local lakes and baked cheese from a nearby farm are some of the ingredients behind Klubi’s home-cooked flavours.

🍴 Visiting Kuusamo with a group this autumn? Groups can book lunch or dinner at Klubi and combine a meal with a day enjoying the beautiful ruska landscapes of Ruka-Kuusamo.

Experience the award-winning Seven Star Smoke Sauna by Lake Heikinjärvi, surrounded by the peaceful Kuusamo wilderness.

Our September Open Smoke Sauna Evenings are:

Enjoy the gentle warmth and soft steam of a traditional Finnish smoke sauna, genuine birch whisks and a peat mask, followed by a refreshing dip in the lake. 🌿🔥

The open sauna evenings are mixed and open to individual visitors. The experience includes towels, sauna hats, birch whisks, peat masks and handmade soap. Please bring your own swimsuit.

🌿🇫🇮 Happy Finnish Nature Day! Hyvää Suomen luonnon päivää!

Today, 29 August, we celebrate Finnish Nature Day!

Here at Isokenkäisten Klubi, surrounded by the forests and lakes of Kuusamo, nature is part of everyday life. And yesterday, 28 August, we saw the first Northern Lights of the season! 💚✨

We want to preserve this special environment for generations to come. As a Green Key certified destination, sustainability is an important part of how we work. We make use of recycled materials and take care to keep our impact on the surrounding wilderness as small as possible.

Today is a good day to simply step outside, enjoy the fresh air and appreciate the forests, lakes and changing seasons around us. 🌲🧡
