🇬🇧 Did you know that many traditional sunscreens are not good for either your skin and your swimming pool water?

With the warm season arriving and pool days starting again, many people still apply sunscreen right before entering the water. It’s a very common habit, but one that is often underestimated.

When certain sunscreens come into contact with chlorine, they can create reactions that may irritate the skin, especially for people with sensitive skin. In addition, as these products dissolve in the water, they can alter the pool’s chemical balance, affecting water quality and cleanliness.

The best advice? Avoid prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day and, if you choose to use sunscreen, opt for “reef-friendly” products: formulas without heavy oils or microplastics, gentler on your skin and more respectful of your pool water.
