" The proposal introduces a closed-loop system that filters over 88% of emissions using low-tech and plant-based solutions. At its core is Artemisia annua, a resilient plant that thrives near brick factories sites in Rosetta' sites and absorbs pollutants. The kilns are reimagined as living chimneys bioremediation towers wrapped in Artemisia that cleanse the air and restore purpose.

Goals and Objectives:

Protect the jobs of over 500 people affected by factory relocation.

Create new work in planting, environmental cleanup, and traditional crafts.

Clean more than 130,000 tons of air every year using a closed-loop system.

Turn brick polluting factories into safe, healthy places to work and gather.

Keep Rosetta's history alive by using local building skills and traditions.

Protect the Nile River from factory pollution and make use of its scenic view."

This project reimagines the historic center of Aleppo as a continuous architectural spine that reconnects its fragmented urban core through a series of spatial interventions rooted in spirit, memory and craft. Anchored by there major urban landmarks the Soug (economic heart), Umayyad Mosque (spiritual core.) and the Citadel (cultural symbol). Through a carefully orchestrated sequence of spatial interventions, the project forms a new spine that weaves lost connections, reactivates public life and reclaims the identity of place.by reinterpreting elements like courtyards, hammams and colonnades using steel, stone and wood More than a restoration it is a strategy for urban healing fostering ritual ,memory and craft as tools to reawaken the city's civic and culture identity."

" Reviving Quseir: An Innovative Prototype for Coastal Resilience

The historic port of Quseir once thrived as a hub of Red Sea trade, pilgrimage, and cultural exchange.
Today, it suffers from shoreline erosion, economic stagnation, and a loss of maritime identity. This project proposes an innovative redefinition of the port, where architecture becomes an active environmental mechanism, transforming natural forces into tools of protection and renewal.
The design responds directly to site dynamics. Dominant northwestern winds - long carriers of sand and trade, are harnessed through the Venturi effect to accelerate airflow and guide sand into controlled deposition zones. This process forms protective dunes that act as a natural barrier against erosion. Sloped roofs, curved walls, and precise gaps shape and stabilize these dunes, allowing the building itself to participate in coastal defense.
A modular "finger" configuration integrates infrastructure, landscape, and public life. The basement hosts port operations (cranes, ramps, and container storage) while the upper levels become a civic platform for exhibitions and cultural spaces overlooking both port activity and dune formation.
Materiality bridges tradition and innovation. Glulam timber follows aerodynamic flows, recalling Quseir's wooden boat heritage, while reinforced concrete ensures strength under port conditions.
More than the revival of a historic port, this proposal is a prototype for resilient coastal architecture, a model where form performs, nature collaborates,
,and architecture repairs. By accelerating sand to create protective
dunes, the design transforms erosion into creation, restoring Quseir as a place of exchange, resilience, and harmony between people and nature."

Project Name: THE LIVING MARKET

"This project is a transformative and revolutionary approach to post-conflict reconstruction, the Port of Remembrance and Renewal merits praise. The concept reimagines Al-Hudaydah Port as a resilient civic monument that connects history, culture, and modern requirements, going beyond simple rebuilding. It illustrates how architecture can be used as a tool for identity, healing, and economic revival by redefining destruction as a chance for renewal.
The project's primary goal is to revive trade and promote social reintegration by introducing a live market as the first stage of recovery. The modular apartments replicate Yemeni customs of courtyards, lanes, and arcades, while the outdoor market, inspired by the material language of boats and containers, represents the port's everyday realities. This blend of tradition and flexibility produces a welcoming environment where business, culture, and community come together.
The project's multifaceted influence is its strongest point. It gives families, artists, and business owners the financial means to start over. Socially, it fosters lively meeting spots that reinforce unity and a sense of belonging. In terms of the environment, it uses climate-responsive design based on regional customs, guaranteeing sustainability in a difficult situation. Crucially, it offers a regeneration model that is scalable, flexible, and firmly anchored in identity-elements necessary for significant recovery in delicate settings.
The Port of Remembrance and Renewal exemplifies how design can function as both infrastructure and symbol-a gateway for trade and a beacon of resilience-by fusing logistical efficiency with cultural expression. It is a strong and worthy contender for recognition because of its ambition."
