The Third Net Zero Conference is officially in the books! ๐ฑ
Last Monday, at Moataz Al Alfi Hall at AUC, we gathered to discuss a question that is becoming more urgent than ever: Are we truly ready for a zero-carbon and climate-resilient future? Not in theory, but in the buildings, infrastructure, and communities we are creating today.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mohamed El-Morsi, Conference President and Chair of the Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering Department at AUC, and Dr. Hala Omar, Conference Vice President, whose leadership and dedication made this event possible from concept to ex*****on.
We were also delighted to welcome Amira Ayoub, Regional Head for MENA at the World Green Building Council, who helped open the day, alongside Prof. Mohamed El-Morsi and Prof. Salah ElHaggar, who shared valuable insights on the Kalundborg eco-industrial park and demonstrated how industrial symbiosis can move from concept to reality.
Special thanks to The American University in Cairo for hosting and co-organizing the conference, to Saint-Gobain Egypt for their sponsorship and participation, and to all our speakers, moderators, partners, and attendees who contributed to the lively discussions throughout the day.
This was our third edition, following conferences in May 2023 and December 2024. With each event, the conversation moves further away from promises and closer to practical implementation, which is exactly the progress we hope to see.
Two highlights from the day deserve their own spotlight: a new partnership agreement and a series of well-deserved recognitions. More on those very soon, so stay tuned!
