We are pleased to announce the completion of finishing works at the Intermediate Station in El-Khanka, Qalyubia Governorate.

The scope of work included the ex*****on of reinforced concrete slabs, along with the final architectural and structural finishing works, reflecting the scale and precision of the completed works, as highlighted in the latest drone footage.

This milestone represents an important step toward the final handover of this vital facility, as part of the Greater Cairo Air Pollution Management and Climate Change Project.

The project was implemented with the support and funding of the World Bank, under the supervision and coordination of the Ministry of Local Development and the Ministry of Environment, in line with the commitment to developing sustainable environmental infrastructure.

In light of the implementation of the Belqas Solid Waste Treatment and Recycling Plant – Dakahlia Governorate,
as part of the development phases of an integrated solid waste treatment and recycling facility, supporting the sustainable waste management system and in line with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030, the project site witnessed notable progress during this week.
Work has been carried out simultaneously across several areas and facilities on site, including:
• Continued ex*****on of reinforced concrete structural works for a number of buildings.
• Progress in backfilling and compaction works within open areas and operational zones.
• Commencement and ex*****on of building and wall works for several service buildings.
• Completion of advanced stages of tanks and infrastructure works.
• Regular workflow across various operational and storage areas within the site.
This reflects the scale of progress achieved and the expansion of ongoing works, demonstrating full commitment to the approved schedule and quality standards.
We continue to work steadily to achieve the highest levels of ex*****on, serving both the community and the environment. 🌱

Field Visit to Support Waste Management Development in Khanka ♻️🇪🇬

Khanka City welcomed a high-level delegation from the World Bank as part of the Greater Cairo Air Pollution and Climate Change Management Project.
The visit included a tour of the Municipal Solid Waste Transfer Station to review progress which is crucial for the safe and final closure of the Abu Zaabal landfill. They also explored future sustainable development opportunities for the site.

The delegation also discussed future sustainable development opportunities for the site.
This facility will enhance waste collection and transportation efficiency in Khanka, contributing to cleaner communities and stronger environmental protection efforts. 🌍♻️

Construction works are ongoing at the site, with reinforced concrete works currently being carried out for the Administrative and Workers’ Buildings as part of the Belqas Solid Waste Recycling Plant project.
