Stejlepladsen, Building Plot E

Site plan for 16 three-storey townhouses arranged in three smaller building groups.

The layout responds to the elongated site and creates a clear relationship between the homes, the landscape and the surrounding paths. To the north, the houses face towards Fiskerhavnen, while the southern side is organised around a small car-free lane with private forecourts, entrances and space for informal play and everyday life.

Each of the three building groups has its own colour identity, repeated in the window frames, railings, sheds and entrance canopies. The colour coding helps distinguish the individual groups while maintaining a coherent architectural language across the development.

The project is currently moving into construction and will be built from prefabricated timber elements.

16 three-storey townhouses constructed from prefabricated timber elements.

The townhouses overlook Fiskerhavnen to the north, while to the south they open onto a small car-free lane, with intimate forecourts and space for children to play.

For the façades, we are currently sourcing residual timber from industrial production, including offcuts from flooring manufacturing. By working with existing material streams, we aim to reduce waste while giving the façades a distinct material character.

The project is now moving from design into construction, and we look forward to following the timber structures as they take shape.

16 new three-storey townhouses are currently taking shape at Stejlepladsen.

The houses are constructed from prefabricated timber elements, allowing for an efficient building process with a strong focus on material use and precision.

For the façades, we are currently working with reclaimed timber from production offcuts — including residual material from flooring production — giving materials that would otherwise be discarded a new architectural life.

A small but important part of the project’s overall approach to resource-conscious construction.

A new pavilion for Himmelev Gymnasium — shaped by the students’ own ideas.

The project grows out of a student idea competition, where the winning proposal imagined a new place to gather, study and spend time together — right on the threshold between inside and outside.

A key premise has been to use resources carefully. The pavilion is therefore based on the reuse of window sections and concrete elements, giving existing materials a new life in a light timber structure.

We are very excited to have been selected to help improve the physical setting for Ungekulturhuset Lucerna in Holbæk.

As part of the project, we will help expand the venue’s concert hall and improve the outdoor courtyard areas.

Lucerna is a youth culture house driven by young people, for young people — a place for community, creativity, events, music and everyday life. The project is part of Realdania’s Kulturhuse for alle initiative, which explores how architecture can help create more open, inclusive and vibrant cultural meeting places.

We look forward to contributing to the next chapter of this inspiring place.
