A new pavilion for Himmelev Gymnasium — shaped by the students’ own ideas.

The project grows out of a student idea competition, where the winning proposal imagined a new place to gather, study and spend time together — right on the threshold between inside and outside.

A key premise has been to use resources carefully. The pavilion is therefore based on the reuse of window sections and concrete elements, giving existing materials a new life in a light timber structure.

We are very excited to have been selected to help improve the physical setting for Ungekulturhuset Lucerna in Holbæk.

As part of the project, we will help expand the venue’s concert hall and improve the outdoor courtyard areas.

Lucerna is a youth culture house driven by young people, for young people — a place for community, creativity, events, music and everyday life. The project is part of Realdania’s Kulturhuse for alle initiative, which explores how architecture can help create more open, inclusive and vibrant cultural meeting places.

We look forward to contributing to the next chapter of this inspiring place.
