Made of Forescolor (treated with pigmented wax), MDF (lacquered) and oak.

A bunk bed for two siblings sharing a room.
It also serves as a devider, parting the room in two each big areas, one for each child.
And since there only is one window on the left,
(and it's the apartments darkest room already)
the bunk bed / devider had to be sort of translucent - that's why it's all build of slabs - letting the light through (but not the little sister).

A little piece of metal hidden in an oak plank.

Must have been there since the early days of the tree, which means for ages.

Most likely a piece of buck should (a Hunter's shotgun shell pellet).

Before the piece became visible, it kind of "announced it arrival" by the miscolor of the surrounding wood, which was caused by the chemical reaction of the metal with the tannic acid of the oak wood.

Well, the thickness planer is not too happy about it.

A customer of mine, a musician and producer, asked me to build some acoustic absorbers for his home studio.

He had the know how about the insides and I was to make frames in Oregon pine.
Three large panels hanging from the ceiling and one standing on the floor.

The insides contain multiple layers of rock wool and sheets of asphalt roofing, acting as a kind of a membrane.
They are super heavy!

Now he has a real tight and crisp sound in that room.
