KÖ8 Köngen — where architecture, identity and interior come together.

A former retail building was transformed into a contemporary shopping destination — defined by a distinctive façade, generous entrances and a striking interplay of aluminium, light and colour.

The architectural transformation is carried through the entire experience: from the KÖ8 corporate design and intuitive wayfinding system to bold graphic elements and carefully designed retail environments.

Inside, diverse retail worlds come together, each with its own character — creating a dynamic mix of fashion, sport and lifestyle across almost 7,000 m².

A holistic design concept that turns a shopping centre into an identifiable experience.

From former retail site to a new piece of city. 🏙️🌿

In Heidelberg’s Goethe-Quartier, housing, offices, retail, gastronomy and healthcare come together in a mixed-use urban ensemble designed by blocher partners for DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL. A new north–south connection and the future Fritz-Bauer-Platz open up the site and create new public space between Weststadt and Kurfürsten-Anlage.

Terraced façades, planted roofs and a palette of ochre and beige tones reference Heidelberg’s sandstone architecture while bringing more greenery into the city.

Every impression counts.
A renovation is experienced as a sequence, not as a collection of isolated details. At Garhammer, the customer journey connects arrival, orientation, movement through the retail spaces and the moment of check-out. Each transition contributes to how the place is understood-and how the brand is remembered.
The current work continues a collaboration with Garhammer that began in 1997. Architecture and interior design are considered together with operational needs and communication, so that routes, thresholds and touchpoints form one coherent experience.
These impressions from the renovation focus on the process: how planning decisions gradually become atmosphere, orientation and everyday use.

A first for our school projects: the Fritz Ulrich School in Heilbronn has received the Beispielhaftes Bauen award. We are proud to see a school join the ranks of our recognised projects.

Over three years while the school remained in operation we transformed the 1960s building into a modern, barrier-free environment for around 400 pupils. Two 13-metre-high atriums now form the heart of the school, complemented by a light-filled foyer, new learning spaces, a greener schoolyard and extensive energy upgrades.

By preserving and carefully adapting the existing structure, the project demonstrates how sustainable transformation can create inspiring places for learning and community.

So fühlt sich Sommer an! 🌞

Wenn Kollegen aus allen Standorten auf Grill, Beats und Tischtennisplatte treffen, verwandelt sich der Garten des Stuttgarter Headquarters für einen Abend in den wohl schönsten Arbeitsplatz des Sommers. Teams aus Stuttgart, Mannheim, Berlin und München kommen zusammen, um gemeinsam mit blocher partners sens, blocher partners sustain und typenraum zu essen, zu lachen und zu tanzen. 🎉

Die Sommerparty zeigt, was blocher partners seit vier Jahrzehnten verbindet: Neugier, interdisziplinärer Austausch und ein Miteinander, das nicht an der Bürotür endet.

Ein riesiges Dankeschön an unseren Grillmeister Stefan Nägele und sein Team, unseren DJ Cici und natürlich an alle, die diesen Abend unvergesslich gemacht haben. So fühlt sich Sommer an! 🌟

The design hotel has been nominated for the Badischer Architektur Preis 2026 in the Hospitality category — as one of only three projects.

The transformation of a 1960s administrative building into an urban hotel with a distinct identity required a sensitive approach to the existing structure. blocher partners was responsible for the façade design and interior architecture.

From the green reception desk and the 90 rooms and suites to the rooftop lounge, every space follows one shared idea: creating a hotel that feels both urban and personal.

Transdisciplinary by design, this daycare brings architecture, interior design and landscape into one shared learning environment.

At the edge of Mannheim’s Waldpark, the timber building opens towards nature and creates space for play, discovery and everyday rituals. Clear architectural contours meet soft, organic interiors, while green roofs, photovoltaics and natural materials make sustainability part of the children’s daily experience.
