La maggior parte di questi progetti non era destinata a vincere e, come dice Benedikt Hartl nella lunga intervista di Sabrina Morreale “perdere il concorso era quasi il punto. Questo libro non è un giro trionfale, ma una silenziosa ribellione in forma stampata. È un’opportunità per riflettere sul mio lavoro al fine di cercare un futuro”.

Unsere Ausstellung Fictional Infrastructures bei M BOOKS in Weimar läuft noch bis zum 5.September. Kommt vorbei und steckt euren Kopf rein!

Fictional Infrastructures ist ein mobiles Museum und filmisches Langzeitprojekt von Opposite Office, das Archi-
tekturmodelle als Fragmente paralleler Wirklichkeiten inszeniert. Für die Ausstellung bei M Books wird der Raum selbst zu einer räumlichen Apparatur zwischen Archiv, Kino und Beobachtungsstation.
Durch Schaufenster, Projektionen, Guckkästen und filmische Überlagerungen entsteht eine spekulative Um-
gebung, in der Architektur nicht als abgeschlossenes Objekt erscheint, sondern als Teil eines instabilen ökologi-
schen und medialen Systems. Neben Modellen, Videos und Zeitungsartikeln zu unseren Projekten gibt es auch ein Hologramm zu sehen.

Thanks to the Chair of Structural Design KET Torsten Müller and .dr.michaelherrmann for ensuring that the treehouse was calculated with safety factors generous enough to satisfy both physics and bureaucracy
Thanx at Frank Motz of ACC Galerie Weimar for helping frame our modest structure intelectually as part of a living architectural heritage, an argument that proved surprisingly useful in conversations with the authorities. Thanks also to Villa Massimo Julia Draganovic for graciously accepting that our correspondence now comes from a somewhat unconventional address. Thank you at noibau and for building and thank you for the great Gefährdungsbeurteilung from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

Ausstellungseröffnung in der nächste Woche am 23.7 um 19:00 mit Villa Massimo. In Rom haben wir „Der Letzte Stipendiat“ gezeigt. In Weimar zeigen wir „Der Letzte Stipendiat II“. Kommt vorbei! :)

Link zur Veranstaltung in Bio:
Der Rompreis der Deutschen Akademie Rom Villa Massimo gilt als die bedeutendste Auszeichnung für deutsche und in Deutschland wirkende Künstler*innen. Seit 2020 präsentiert die Villa Massimo ihre aktuellen Stipendiat*innen in einem jeweils wechselnden Bundesland. 2026 fiel die Wahl auf Weimar. In der ACC Galerie Weimar begegnen sich die Rompreisträger*innen der Jahrgänge 2024/25 und 2025/26.

Die Ausstellung bringt jedoch nicht nur die Ergebnisse eines zehnmonatigen Aufenthalts in Rom nach Weimar. Sie fragt vielmehr danach, was zwischen Ankunft und Abreise geschieht. Welche Ideen entstehen in den Ateliers der Villa Massimo? Welche Wege werden eingeschlagen, verändert oder verworfen? Welche Spuren hinterlässt Rom als Ort der Inspiration, der Reibung und des Experiments?

Im Mittelpunkt steht deshalb nicht allein das fertige Werk, sondern der Prozess seiner Entstehung. Die Ausstellung richtet den Blick auf jene oft unsichtbaren Momente künstlerischer Produktion, die zwischen erster Idee und abgeschlossener Arbeit liegen. Skizzen, Notizen, Entwürfe, Modelle, Partituren, Prototypen, Versuchsanordnungen und Fragmente erscheinen hier als Zeugen eines Werdens, das gewöhnlich hinter dem fertigen Werk verschwindet. Zwischen Aufbruch und Ankommen, Konzentration und Zweifel, Euphorie und Scheitern entstehen nicht nur Kunstwerke, sondern auch Erfahrungen, Haltungen und neue Perspektiven. (…)

Our proposal Pillar Penthouse (simply called Precarious Penthouse) got selected for the Shortlist! The Pavillion is a recycling Object from last years winners and deals with the housing shortage in London, proposes a radical inversion: the smallest possible dwelling elevated to the status of a monument.
