A few weeks ago, after a 5-week adventure in Singapore, Chef Wendy (.soulkitchen ) jumped straight back into the kitchen with Joy and Meal, leading a vibrant cooking class in Munich — this time for none other than Amazon (where she’s also a proud customer 😉).
With 12 participants from around the world, the class was a beautiful celebration of culture, creativity, and community through food 🌍✨
The culinary journey began with:
🥔 Pani Puri – crispy Indian street-style water balls filled with curried potatoes & chickpeas, topped with coriander-mint sauce. One bite = a flavor explosion!
🐟 Yusheng Salad – a colorful, refreshing dish typically served during Chinese New Year, with smoked salmon, juicy pomelo, and a tangy lime-plum dressing.
Then it was time to cook!
🥟 Chicken Dumplings – everyone joined in, folding savory little parcels by hand before pan-frying them to golden perfection.
🍜 Vegetarian Tantanmen – a modern, plant-based take on Japanese ramen with rich broth, fresh veggies, and just the right amount of heat.
To finish:
🥭 Chia Seed Pudding – sweetened with coconut sugar & topped with mango, this dessert was both stunning and satisfying.
🍪 Bonus treat: Wendy brought homemade Chinese New Year cookies from Singapore, adding a nostalgic, personal touch.
From folding dumplings to sharing global stories, it was a heartwarming day full of flavor, fun, and connection. The day was a testament to the power of food in bringing people together, celebrating diverse cultures, and creating joyful memories in every dish. Thank you to the Amazon team for the energy & openness.
Happy cooking, everyone! 💛
