🚨 Reminder: EU Regulation Alert! 🚨
The European Commission has introduced Regulation (EU) 2024/996, amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products. One focus in this update was on the safety and compliance of cosmetic products containing 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor (4-MBC).

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗿: 4-MBC has been identified as an endocrine disruptor, raising safety concerns and may no longer be used as a UV Filter in cosmetic products.
By 𝟭 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, non-compliant products must no longer be available on the Union market (off-shelf).

The European Commission has introduced Regulation (EU) 2024/858, amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products. This update focuses on the use of various nanomaterials in cosmetic products to ensure consumer safety.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀:

Hydroxyapatite (nano) may be used in toothpastes up to 10% and in mouthwash up to 0.465%.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀:
From 𝟭 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, cosmetic products containing these nanomaterials shall not be placed on the Union market.
From 𝟭 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, cosmetic products containing these nanomaterials shall not be made available on the Union market.

The European Commission has introduced Regulation (EU) 2024/996, amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products. One focus of this update is the safety and compliance of cosmetic products containing Genistein, Daidzein, Kojic Acid, Alpha-Arbutin, and Arbutin.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Maximum allowed concentration of 0.007% in ready-to-use cosmetic products.

𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗱𝘇𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Maximum allowed concentration of 0.02% in ready-to-use cosmetic products.

𝗞𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Maximum allowed concentration of 1% in face and hand products.

𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮-𝗔𝗿𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Maximum concentration of 2% in face creams, Maximum concentration of 0.5% in body lotions.

𝗔𝗿𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Maximum concentration of 7% in face creams.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹, 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Products must include the warning "Contains Vitamin A. Consider your daily intake before use"

The European Commission has introduced Regulation (EU) 2024/996, amending Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products. One of the focuses of this update is the safety and compliance of cosmetic products containing Triclosan and Triclocarban.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
Maximum allowed concentration of 0.3% in toothpastes, hand soaps, body soaps/shower gels, deodorants (non-spray), face powders, and blemish concealers. No longer allowed in mouthwashes.
Not allowed in toothpaste intended for children under 3 years of age.
Mandatory labelling for toothpastes containing Triclosan: "Not to be used for children under 3 years of age".

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
