BKRS Crane Systems, the Dutch builder of overhead cranes, has collaborated on a new production facility for the continuous production of seaworthy XXL foundations for offshore platforms. These foundations are maneuvered in the production hall using specially constructed overhead cranes. Of the six cranes delivered, four can be operated simultaneously in order to lift and move more than 1000 tonnes in a controlled fashion. Precise control of these heavy and extremely long loads was made possible through the application of Yaskawa U1000 frequency drives 😎

The driving force for the twin screw pumps is provided by Sigma servo motors and the appropriate amplifiers. The rapid-response AC servo drives feature a high resolution (integrated 24-bit absolute encoder) and high dynamism, and are ideal for demanding positioning tasks. They are capable of suppressing vibrations and machine resonance frequencies automatically during operation. They are also designed for a long service life and operate at ambient temperatures of between 0 and 55° C without additional cooling. Thanks to their compact dimensions, they require only a small installation space and are easy to mount on dosing units that are commonly used on the rotary tables in filling systems 🙌

We offer a technical solution for feeding robot and track/gantry/positioner braking energy back into the power supply system – as standard and without additional hardware. All larger MOTOMAN robots of the series from 35 kg payload and the current YRC1000 robot controller are able to convert kinetic energy from downward and sideways movements directly into 400 V alternating current at 50 Hz and feed it back into the grid 🤖😎
