🥁 Feel the Sound of Korea in Jeonnam-Gwangju! 🇰🇷✨

There’s something truly special about experiencing Korean culture not just by watching, but by actually becoming part of it! 🎶

At Namdo Sori Ullimteo (남도소리울림터) in Muan, traditional Korean music and performing arts come to life. During our visit, we had the chance to play the Janggu, Korea’s traditional hourglass shaped drum, and even sing Arirang together. 🥁🎤 And yes, it was just as much fun as it sounds!

Namdo Sori Ullimteo is dedicated to preserving and sharing Korea’s traditional performing arts, from Gugak and Pansori to traditional instruments and dance. It’s a wonderful place to get closer to Jeonnam-Gwangju’s cultural heritage and experience a side of Korea that goes far beyond the usual sightseeing.

If you’re exploring Jeonnam and love discovering local culture, definitely keep this place on your list! 💛

Throwback to a wonderful day at the Korean Education Fair in Frankfurt! 😊

We had a fantastic time sharing the beauty and flavors of Jeollanamdo (now the Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City) with visitors. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and made the day so much fun! 🎶

🇰🇷 Say hello to Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City launching July 1, 2026! 🎉

Gwangju and South Jeolla Province are becoming one, and the numbers speak for themselves:

📍 3.2 million people – 5th largest in the country
📍 12,865 km² – 3rd largest area in the country
📍 5 cities, 5 districts and 17 counties under one roof

But what really makes this region special goes way beyond size. Jeollanamdo leads the nation in renewable energy with a power self-sufficiency rate of 213.4% and is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Hwasun Dolmen Site and the Korean Tidal Flats. Gwangju on the other hand is Korea's AI powerhouse with over 160 relocated AI enterprises and is the home of the iconic Gwangju Biennale.

Together they form a region that combines green energy, cutting-edge tech, cultural heritage and some of the best food in Korea. 🌿✨

🍓✨ Strawberry season in Damyang!

Damyang is not only famous for its breathtaking bamboo forests – it is also home to some of the sweetest, juiciest strawberries in all of Korea!

Nestled in the clean air and fertile soils of Jeollanamdo, Damyang strawberries are a true taste of nature – bright red, perfectly ripe, and bursting with flavour. Whether you enjoy them fresh, dipped in cream, or turned into jam, one thing is certain: once you try them, you will never forget them (I speak from experience)🍓💛

If you ever find yourself in this beautiful region, make sure to try them! Fresh strawberries in the shade of bamboos is on another level ☀️
