Doing a little math is easy: if you think that the vehicle weighs 218 kilograms and has 100 HP, you understand why a Superkart does 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds – in comparison, today’s Formula One does 0-100 in 1.7 sec. The distinction regarding the two data is, today more than ever, the large amount of electronics that characterizes the maximum formula, compared to Superkart where there are no electronic components intervening on the starting procedures. A few numbers, added to the 240km/h of top speed and the 2.6g of cornering power explain and describe a category that is among the most impressive in the world of karting and of the entire motorsport. The racing environment is, despite the monster machines, real easy. On the track they are all rivals but out of the race you help each other in every way, at any moment a driver has a technical problem to solve. The very last international racing seasons have been affected by the pandemic issues and the race calendar got some canceled races but things are slightly returning to normal, especially in France, Nederlands and the countries where these karts used to race.
