This is the homepage of “Gigantas Antaios Touvlopiio Ltd”, a construction materials manufacturing company. Antaios or Anteus, was a mythical giant, son of Poseidon and Gaia (Earth), as well as king of Libya. According to folklore, Antaios challenged passerbys from his region to a duel and he was impossible to beat , as long as he stayed in touch with his mother, Earth. Like Antaios, the company draws its strength directly from the ground as it produces Compressed Earth Blocks, with the use of local soil and water. Compressed Earth Blocks are much more cost effective and environmentally friendly than conventional baked bricks and cement blocks, and they create a pleasant interior atmosphere within dwellings thanks to their capacity to absorb moisture surplus (during cold periods) and “breathe it out” during hotter days.

Some images and feedback from our final workshop (Work package 2, deliverable 8 ), during which we presented major results and research findings from the implementation of project PHD IN INDUSTRY/1222/0081, (acronym: "EcoBuildMat") which is funded by the Republic of Cyprus, through the Research and Innovation Foundation. Participants had the opportunity to learn how major milestones of the project have been reached and what remains to be completed by its finalization in September 2026.

As our research project is drawing to its completion, we are going forward with our final workshop (Work Package 2: Dissemination and Exploitation Activities, Deliverable 8 ).
