We are delighted to announce that our latest research was published and presented at the IEEE Symposium on Maritime Informatics & Robotics, held in Syros, Greece (26–27 June 2025). Developed through the collaborative efforts of the MSP4Growth and SeaTecHub (No. 101087162) projects, the study introduces a novel methodological framework for evaluating intelligent Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) techniques.



By leveraging synthetic datasets, we systematically investigated how various structural and spatial constraints influence marine zoning outcomes.

This work contributes to the advancement of intelligent, data-driven approaches to marine space management and aligns with the tools and vision developed under MSP4Growth.

MSP4GROWTH participated in the R&I and Career Fair Exhibition, organised by the Cyprus Foundation for the Sea (CYFOS) as part of this year’s Blue Limassol Forum. The event was open to the public and aimed to highlight cutting-edge research, innovation, and career opportunities in the Blue Economy.

Students, researchers, and Blue Economy stakeholders had the opportunity to learn about the concept behind the MSP4GROWTH platform, explore the models being developed, and discuss some initial results.

Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, who delivered the keynote speech at this year’s Forum, also visited the CMMI booth. He engaged in discussions with the team regarding the project’s potential to serve as a decision support tool for MSP once development is complete.

The MSP4GROWTH project was presented at the EMRA 2025 workshop, held on June 4–5, 2025, at NTNU – the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.
At the event, MSP4GROWTH demonstrated its powerful decision-making and planning tools for Marine Spatial Planning (MSP), showcasing how data-driven platforms can enhance the sustainable use of marine environments. The project’s innovative approach enables better management and optimization of marine space, supporting decision-makers in balancing economic, environmental, and social factors.
