For this residence, the architectural expression is shaped by a careful balance of openness and enclosure. A bold structural frame defines the building's presence, while a series of layered spaces create moments of transition, privacy, and discovery throughout the home.

Some houses sit on the land. This one belongs to it.

Set into the cliffs of Maroni, this 800m² private residence was conceived as an extension of the terrain itself, part of it embedded in the mountain, part of it opening completely to the Mediterranean beyond. Local stone, timber, and restrained, tactile detailing let the architecture stay quiet. The light does the rest, moving through wide glazing and shaded outdoor spaces until inside and outside barely feel separate.

Calm. Grounded. Quietly connected to where it stands.

Defined by rhythm, depth, and light, this project transforms a simple geometric language into a dynamic architectural expression.

A series of repeating geometric forms create depth across the facade, shaping private outdoor spaces while framing views for each residence. As daylight moves across the building, shadows and highlights continuously redefine its appearance, transforming the facade into a dynamic composition that changes throughout the day.

Rather than a static object, the architecture is designed to evolve with its environment, revealing a different character with every shift of light.

The design of Skala Lounge began with a simple challenge: how do you create a sense of calm within one of the most fast-paced environments people experience?

To soften the conventional language of airport interiors, we introduced flowing architectural forms, curved details, integrated greenery, and a warm material palette of timber, natural textures, and muted tones. Layered lighting further enhances comfort and atmosphere throughout the space.

The result is an interior that prioritizes wellbeing, transforming a functional waiting area into a more human-centered experience.
