Today I’m making a super-fresh calendula hydrolat especially for the upcoming market in Pano Akourdaleia Artisan Market.

A few words about this hydrolat 💛
This is a true flower hydrolat, made through gentle distillation, and it comes together with the natural plant oils — it’s not separated or stripped. That means it keeps both the water-soluble components and delicate traces of calendula oils, making it especially soft, balanced, and alive.

Calendula flower hydrolat is known for:
• calming sensitive, irritated, or reactive skin
• supporting skin regeneration and natural healing
• gentle anti-inflammatory and soothing properties
• being kind and safe even for very delicate skin

You can use it as a facial mist, after cleansing, for sun-exposed skin, baby skin, or anytime your skin needs a moment of calm and care 🌿

See you at the market ✨

Finally black soil in the garden!
To make this happen we made the following set up:
1) black net on the greenhouse
2) drip irrigation 10 min every 12 hours
3) sweet potatoes everywhere planted very dense, not for crop but for maximum amount of roots. This helps the water to actually stay in the ground, provides shade and sugars in the soil. As the result more earthworms and better black soil
4) never used any chemical fertilizers, they kill soil life and nothing can work in the soil naturally to build its health.

We’re back and have been actively working in the garden for the past week.

The area, which until recently was densely shaded by trees, is transforming. The trees have been cut back halfway, and only part of the branches remain. It used to be almost 90% shade — like a real forest.

We’re shredding the branches into green mulch, which we use to cover the beds. This not only protects the soil but also provides extra nitrogen for the plants.

The tree that grows here is called Leucaena. It’s known as a nitrogen fixer — its leaves are rich in nitrogen, decompose quickly, and help enrich the soil.

We’re continuing to transform the space and will keep sharing the process with you.
