Goodbye, PowPow 🪽🪽🐾🕊️

Nine years and ten months, and almost every one of those days she spent working right alongside us. She was on construction sites before the concrete was poured. She was at the office while we drew. She sat in on furniture selections with clients like she had opinions, and honestly she probably did. She came along to measure new projects. And when she got tired of all of it, she just climbed into my bag and let me carry her to the next one.

She was not our office dog. She was Studio Octava Architects. She was there from the beginning, part of the team and part of the family, and every person who walked through our door met her first.

The site visits are going to feel empty. The office is way too quiet. Our bag is way too light.

Thank you for every single day, little one. We love you. ❤️🐾

Terrazzo doesn’t age. It deepens.

Every chip of stone, green, blush, earth, placed with intention. Not as decoration but as a decision about how a space should feel when you walk through it barefoot at 7am, or when afternoon light hits the floor and everything shifts a little.

Materials like this carry time well. In ten years this floor will look better than it does today.

Designed for a family in the medical field, the primary suite at Happy Home 05 was imagined as a space that supports wellbeing through architecture.

Natural light, warm textures, soft transitions, and a strong connection to greenery create an atmosphere focused on calmness, recovery, and daily rituals. The ensuite becomes more than a bathroom, it becomes part of a healthier way of living.

Every material and detail was selected to feel timeless, warm, and grounding while maintaining the clean lines of the architecture.

At Studio Octava, we believe health starts with the spaces we live in.

Rana Loca. A tea house that almost vanishes from the outside. Inside, a quiet nod to Japanese coastal architecture, a tradition that has always known how to live with humidity, salt air, and the relentless weight of a tropical climate. The same honesty in materials, the same respect for shelter. A guest house designed to disappear into its place, and feel completely at home there.

Rana Loca.

Neuspirit Yoga & Meditation Home
Limón, Costa Rica

This project started from something simple, a family dream to create a place to slow down.

The house is lifted lightly off the ground, letting nature move freely underneath. Large overhangs and deep eaves create shade and make the spaces feel calm and protected.

It’s designed for yoga, for meditation, or just for being.

There’s an easy flow through the house, where inside and outside blend together, and everything feels a bit quieter.

A place to breathe, reset, and just be.

Not every project begins with a form.
Sometimes it begins with a feeling 🌊

In Montezuma, the question was simple:
How can a house live inside the jungle without interrupting it?

The answer was not more architecture, but less.

Large openings allow the forest to become the walls.
Morning light filters through the trees and lands softly on timber ceilings.
The bedroom wakes with the landscape.
The bath becomes a quiet pause between the inside world and the outside one.

Instead of competing with nature, the architecture steps back and lets the place speak first.

Materials are calm, tactile, and honest.
Wood that carries warmth.
Stone that holds the coolness of the earth.
Light that changes the space hour by hour.

This is not a house designed to impress at first glance.
It is a house designed to be discovered slowly.

A place where architecture becomes background and life moves to the foreground.
