We are pleased to see the San Ramón Judicial Annex featured by gooood, one of the world's leading architecture platforms dedicated to contemporary design and the built environment.

The project explores how civic architecture can embody the values of the institution it serves while responding to the climate and landscape of Costa Rica. Conceived through the principles of biophilic design, the building integrates natural light, passive environmental strategies, and vegetation to create healthier, more humane spaces for justice.

Beyond its environmental performance, the architecture is structured as a symbolic composition: a volcanic stone base anchors the building to the territory, a transparent volume expresses institutional openness, and the timber courtrooms quite literally support the volume above—making the act of administering justice both the physical and symbolic foundation of the project.

Featured in Architect and Interiors India

We're pleased to see LTR1 featured by Architect and Interiors India.

The article explores how the project rethinks the conventional residential tower, proposing a vertical neighborhood built around a preserved forest. Developed through our research into Tropical Vertical Urbanism, LTR1 integrates housing, commerce, public space, and nature into a regenerative mixed-use ecosystem designed for tropical cities.

Rather than maximizing the building footprint, the project bends around an existing forest, placing the landscape at the heart of the development and allowing architecture to coexist with the natural environment.

Future Project – House

Can architecture regenerate the places it inhabits?

Located on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, NUMINA House is set on a site that was once part of a forest, later cleared and converted into pastureland. The project begins from this condition, proposing a regenerative approach to residential architecture where the landscape becomes the primary framework for ecological recovery.

Buildings are carefully positioned to preserve emerging ecological corridors, minimize intervention on the terrain, and support the long-term restoration of one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems.

A key strategy for regeneration is the implementation of the Miyawaki Method, used to reforest the property with dense, native vegetation. This approach accelerates ecological recovery, restoring biodiversity while creating a resilient and self-sustaining forest system that will continue to evolve over time.

The project is also deeply shaped by its client—a free diver whose life is closely connected to the ocean, water, and fluidity. This relationship is reflected in the architecture through soft, organic geometries that move away from rigid or directional forms. Instead, the house unfolds with a sense of openness and continuity, embracing all directions and dissolving boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.

Through native reforestation, passive climatic strategies, and a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor living, the project redefines the house as part of a living ecological system—one that continues to evolve, regenerate, and grow with the forest over time.

This November, the project will be presented live before the World Architecture Festival jury in Fort Lauderdale.

Future Project – Commercial Mixed-Use

How can tropical cities grow without sacrificing quality of life?

Centric explores a new model for urban density where housing, commerce, public space, and nature operate as a single interconnected system. Rather than functioning as an isolated residential complex, the project extends the life of the street through an active mixed-use podium, generous public spaces, and a network of landscaped terraces that strengthen the relationship between architecture and the city.

A defining element of the proposal is the regeneration of the Torres River, one of San José's principal waterways. For decades, many of the city's rivers have been neglected—hidden behind buildings, turned into backyards, and in many cases reduced to polluted corridors. Instead of turning its back on the river, Centric embraces it as its greatest natural asset. A new linear park restores the riverfront as public space, reconnecting citizens with the landscape while activating it through commerce, pedestrian routes, and everyday urban life.

Developed through our research into Tropical Vertical Urbanism, the project demonstrates how climate-responsive design, biophilic principles, and mixed-use density can become catalysts for environmental regeneration—creating healthier, more resilient, and socially connected cities for tropical regions.

This November, the project will be presented live before the World Architecture Festival jury in Fort Lauderdale.

For the Poder Judicial de San Ramón, Carazo Arquitectura transforms civic values into material and environmental strategies. A volcanic-stone plinth grounds the building in its local context, while a light-filled central atrium organizes circulation, enhances transparency, and drives passive ventilation. Daylighting, climate-responsive design, and biophilic elements work together to create a healthy, resilient workplace adapted to Costa Rica’s tropical conditions.

We are pleased to share that Casa Calma has been featured by Arquine.

Located in the tropical forests of Nosara, Costa Rica, the project explores one of the central ideas behind our approach to architecture: dissolving the boundary between inside and outside. Conceived as a series of spaces woven through existing vegetation, the house allows nature, light, air, and landscape to become active components of everyday life.

A home where the forest is not the backdrop, but the architecture itself.
