CIMC Modular Building Systems has completed a new modular staff accommodation complex in Indonesia.

The project has also enabled CIMC Modular Building Systems to develop a standardised and scalable staff accommodation product, designed to be adapted to the needs of industrial parks across different markets.

CIMC Modular Building Systems is proud to have contributed its modular design, engineering and manufacturing expertise to the delivery of this 81-bed, purpose-built nursing home using fully volumetric modular construction.

With 95% of the building completed off-site and all modules installed in just eight days, the project demonstrates how industrialised construction can deliver consistent quality, greater programme certainty and significantly reduced on-site activity—while helping address the UK’s growing demand for high-quality elderly care facilities.

An 18-metre classroom is on its way to Hong Kong!

CIMC Modular Building Systems has successfully commenced the shipment of modules for the Teaching Hub at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, marking the project’s transition from off-site manufacturing to on-site installation.

The three-storey teaching facility comprises 61 steel-framed modules, including classroom modules measuring up to 18 metres in length. With approximately 90% of the building completed off-site, the modules have already been integrated with structural components, MEP systems, interior finishes, staircases, ramps, washrooms and equipment spaces before leaving our manufacturing facility.

Once completed, the Teaching Hub will provide flexible spaces for classes, student–faculty interaction and a range of learning activities, serving approximately 900 students.

By moving complex construction processes into a controlled factory environment, the project helps:
✅ Accelerate the delivery of new teaching facilities
✅ Maintain consistent construction quality
✅ Reduce noise, dust, wet trades and material storage on campus
✅ Minimise disruption to the university’s daily operations

The 18-metre modules also create more open and adaptable learning environments while reducing the number of on-site module connections.

As the modules begin their journey to Hong Kong, our team will continue working closely with HKUST, consultants and project partners to support safe installation and high-quality delivery.

We have just wrapped up an inspiring five-day visit to Australia, thoughtfully organised by the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi).

It was a pleasure to reconnect with many familiar faces, meet new industry partners and exchange perspectives on the future of modular construction. Our sincere thanks to BTRi for organising such a valuable programme.

Delivered by CIMC Modular Building Systems, the 3,000-square-metre permanent facility was built from 78 steel-framed modules and is designed to accommodate nearly 200 people.

More than 90% of the construction work—including structural fabrication, interior finishes, MEP systems and building services—was completed under controlled factory conditions in China before the modules were transported to Cameroon for installation and commissioning.

Compared with the conventional construction plan considered for the project, the modular approach shortened the overall delivery schedule by more than 50%, while also reducing on-site work, noise, dust and construction waste.

From manufacturing and international logistics to local installation and system commissioning, the project required close coordination across teams in China and Cameroon.

Its successful completion demonstrates how industrialised modular construction can help businesses establish high-quality, permanent operational facilities in international markets with greater certainty over quality, schedule and delivery.

We're proud to announce the shipment of Earth Hotel Riyadh, CIMC Modular Building Systems' first hospitality project in the Middle East.

Manufactured at our intelligent production facility in China, 104 fully finished volumetric modules are now on their way to Riyadh, where they will be rapidly assembled into a permanent boutique hotel.

This project is about far more than transporting building modules.
It demonstrates how modular construction is reshaping the future of hospitality development—delivering greater speed, higher quality and improved sustainability without compromising architectural design or guest experience.

Designed to meet the Saudi Building Code (SBC), the project is supported by a comprehensive digital quality management system spanning design, manufacturing, logistics and on-site installation, ensuring consistent quality and end-to-end traceability throughout the delivery process.

Beyond construction, the hotel has also been designed for long-term operational performance. High-performance thermal insulation, sustainable materials and an intelligent room management system help reduce cooling demand and operating costs while providing a smarter and more comfortable guest experience in Saudi Arabia's demanding climate.
