CEFEMAC – Centre for Environmental Management and Change is an interdisciplinary environmental management centre with a vision to disseminate practicable synergies in low carbon sustainable development within local communities around Central and West Africa. Key sectors of the research centre will be climate change, carbon project development, Strategic Plans for local communities integrated with

climate change mitigation, Sustainable Construction within the Built Environment, Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Data Services.

The Environmental studies for the rehabilitation of the Sakai Rice Irrigation Project, in the Prefecture of L’Ombella M’Poko, Central African Republic (CAR) is a sub component of the project tiled “Project de Soutien a la reliance de la production Agricole dans la Prefecture de L’Ombella M’Poko (CAF 1013)”, an ambitious Peace building and reconstruction initiative in CAR. The project aimed at boosting the production of rice in Sakai by raising production to two seasons a year and yields per hectare.
