🍑 Pink Pele Iris — a must have perennial in your flower beds!

She’s an intermediate bearded iris, making her perfect for planting right behind any boarder plants/flowers you have in your beds. Pink Pele blooms end of May/early June in zone 3! If you are in zones higher, blooms will start even earlier!

As I type this, she is still blooming in my garden, meaning we’ve had 2+ weeks of her stunning colours 🤎

She is quick to establish, very hardy in my experience, and has been thriving through our deep cold winters/hot dry summers!

You can’t go wrong adding her to your garden 🪏

A sunny Monday morning in the garden, many irises are nearly blooming, along with a beautiful soft yellow peony, Sunny Girl 💛

Our weather has finally turned around and I’m finding myself lingering through the garden for longer than usual lately. Between the blooms, the bees, and the birds, what may feel mundane is truthfully a massive reason for my existence.

My soul fills up here. It doesn’t matter if it’s the first time I walk through, or the 32nd time that day. I leave feeling revitalized and regulated.

My camera will be my best friend these next few weeks with irises and peony’s on the cusp of blooming! Many new to Rooted Ranch Co - and documenting their first arrival has become one of my favourite things 🤎

I cannot wait to share - might be as early as tonight! You know I’ll be checking every 20 minutes to see who’s opened up 😆

Something weighing on my mind lately with socials is captions - I hardly read any anymore. AI has replaced so much. And I genuinely miss reading people’s thoughts, straight from their minds. Their beautiful beautiful minds.

I tried it for a bit - especially when life felt hectic and I felt the pressure to post. And because of that, I became so disconnected from my own story telling - which I’ve LOVED in the past. I love writing. I love reading!

Can we bring back social media from a couple years back? 🤎🌷

Also - enjoy my animals, my plants. The storms we went through. The celebrations we celebrated! May was a literal rollercoaster 🎢 But we have life in the fields, and in the garden - albeit a little too much water. But life nonetheless 🤎

🤎 Jump Start — the wine coloured intermediate bearded iris 🍷

In zone 3, Jump Start is one of the first to bloom late May/early June (spring weather depending… this year has been a doozy). The colouring may feel moody, but Jump Start’s temperament is not! Year after year, -40 winters and +40 summers, Jump Start returns… not only healthy, but with lots of growth/new rhizomes!

✨ First 3 photos were taken in the evening, and have a subtle filter on them. Last 3 photos are from the morning, no filter!
