After seeing many pictures and receiving many phone calls about the heavy rains in Regina and South Saskatchewan the last few days we would like to pass on a friendly reminder to building occupants. Don't forget to check the following this fall.
Sump Pumps - Check for operation and proper discharge of water
(clean free of dust and debris)
Foundation - Check for cracks with signs of water, efflorescence, any horizontal
cracking.
Exterior Slope - Check to reassure you have positive slope away from your
foundation prior to the late fall rains and 26 spring melt
Evestroughs - Clean your evestroughs and down spouts free of debris and reassure
water flows seamlessly through the eves down the spouts to virgin
soil so it can not flow back towards your foundation.
A wet smelly basement can be a real pain in the butt and a time thief, a bit of preventive maintenance can make your life just a little bit easier.
