The City of Edmonton, Strathcona County and the River Valley Alliance (RVA) have partnered to fund a footbridge that will link the River Valley in Edmonton all the way to Fort Saskatchewan.

We are providing survey support for the contractor, Graham Construction and are committed to ensuring the success of this new pedestrian bridge.

Our long-standing commitment to engage and work with Canada’s Indigenous Peoples is a core value of Challenger Geomatics.

Our Indigenous Relations Lead, Joe Iles, focuses on building and strengthening ties and adding value for our clients and partners such as growing local capacity and employment opportunities, utilizing Indigenous businesses and seeking out other opportunities for mutual benefit.

Joe leads in the ongoing development of Challenger’s company culture, in the spirit of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, for business to take an active roll in reconciliation. “It is our intent that the positive impact of this new role will go beyond strictly business objectives to foster awareness and respect for Indigenous culture, traditional knowledge, perspectives and values in who we are and how we operate as a company.”

Surveyors are the first to arrive and last to leave construction projects. We are there to support you throughout the whole process.

We start by doing preliminary mapping and topographic surveys of the project area to help design and engineering teams.

Upon award, we provide construction survey support, track quantities, and maintain site control for both the owner and contractor.

At the end of the project, we issue final as-built surveys to provide record drawings of the project.

Having Challenger support your construction project is an important step in ensuring its success.

This photo is of Rob Cream, a Project Manager at Challenger, straddling the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, London in the summer of 1979.

The Prime Meridian represents 0Âş degrees Longitude and is also the centre of the Universal Time Zone (Greenwich Mean Time) which other time zones refer to.

Mike Jamieson fired up the smoker to welcome our newest staff members to our Calgary team.

It was a fun-filled afternoon of delicious food and great company. This provided our staff with the opportunity to unwind, relax and socialize with their new colleagues.

A warm welcome to Hamish Mcphail a recent graduate from the University of Calgary and summer student Colin Richardson.

Construction and engineering surveys are a critical component of any major infrastructure project. They involve the accurate measurement and mapping of the physical features of a construction site, including buildings, roads, bridges, rails, utilities, and other infrastructure.

These surveys are essential for ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. They provide engineers and project managers with the information they need to plan and design projects, identify potential hazards and risks, and optimize the use of resources.

Our experienced team uses knowledge, cutting-edge technology, and techniques to deliver high-quality results that meet the needs of our clients and exceeds their expectations.

Whether you need topographical surveys, 3D modeling, or laser scanning, we have the expertise and equipment to get the job done.

Let's Roll and Bowl!

Our Edmonton team brought their competitive spirit for a fun-filled evening of strikes, spares and good times on Friday night.

The social committee planned the perfect event to connect with their colleagues and show off their skills on the lanes and off.

Nothing like a little competition and food to bring the team together.

Congratulations to the bowling champions: Anthony Mangahas, Abigail Kelly, Braeden Veeneman, Paul Nicol, and Christian Haylett!

Today is the official relaunch of our infamous Challenger Newsletter - The Iron Post!

Last month we encouraged staff members to decide on the name for our newsletter. We had over 25 names suggested and our team voted on the winner. Congratulations Anthony Mangahas on suggesting the winner.

This bi-monthly newsletter is designed to highlight staff members, current projects and give everyone an update on what is happening within the company.

We're excited to see how this will all unfold and can't wait to start planning the next edition.

As the air thickens with smoke and ambers begin falling from the sky we keep those dealing with the fires throughout Alberta in our hearts and in our minds.

We’ve been racking our brains on ways that we can help during this difficult time.

The creation of our fire layer map can help people understand if their assets are being negatively impacted by the fires.

If you need to see where your assets are in regard to where the fires are, please contact us.

It was the perfect day for a backyard BBQ at the Whitehorse office on Friday. With the burgers on the grill 🍔, we welcomed two of our newest members to the team.

Danny Johnston is a recent graduate 🎓 who is starting out as a survey assistant with hopes of becoming a Party Chief in the next few months.

Nolan Ranger is joining us a summer student who is joining us from Lethbridge college📚.

We are excited to share our knowledge and can't wait to see where this summer will lead them.

Welcome to the team Nolan and Danny👏!
