We are proud to be able to serve some of Canada’s most successful General Contractors, Engineering Consulting Companies and Developers. ou tour our new website, you will see that we have partnered on many key P3 and design build infrastructure and building projects. We also have key MTO, TTC, GO/Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario projects that have saved our clients millions of dollars avoiding dig-replace or deep foundation approaches in the face of problem soil conditions. You will also find we are just as pleased to help with the small projects with big problems with our unique peer-reviewed design-build delivery. Despite our success and growth, we have not forgotten why we are here and how we grew – by serving our clients with finding the best solution to their problem soils, not just forcing our solutions to fit the problem. We don’t get called on when things are simple, and we have learned that the best practice, for projects big or small, is to advise our clients to take appropriately conservative approaches when the stakes are high, which they always are at the foundation level of a structure. By choosing GeoSolv for your problem soil projects, you are choosing a level of quality and care that is unparalleled in our industry. This commitment to our clients is the unquestionable foundation of every project we undertake. When Mother Earth isn’t co-operating on your next structure, wind tower, treatment plant, or embankment/slope, we invite you to experience the GeoSolv difference on your next challenging soil project.

We're once again Digging in with Mark Tigchelaar! With GeoSolv turning 20 years old, we wanted to look back to the beginning and asked Mark to let us know what his vision was for GeoSolv when he first started in the Ontario market. Here is what he had to say:

"[My vision was] to provide an alternative to deep foundations and dig-replace that was practical, saved money and improved schedule. And to deliver that design-build so that owners and contractors felt safe in changing the status quo from these proven, though pricey traditional techniques for problem soil sites."

Have you rode the recently opened Eglinton LRT? We were excited to work on a retaining wall essential to an elevated portion of the line over Blackcreek drive.

The soil conditions in the area consisted of fill over native silty clay and clayey silt till making the ground unstable and difficult to build on. The variable and weak soils extended to a depth of up to 11m below grade. We certainly had our hands full.

For our solution we turned to the Geopier Impact® system from Geopier, a Division of CMC for it's ability to reinforce weak soils and for its clean installation without leaving any additional soil on-site.

Oh, and we supported the maintenance facility right next to this embankment too. When you are driving around Ontario, there are many key pieces of infrastructure supported by GeoSolv.

For this we are spotlighting one of our Senior Site Supervisors Jordan Rowe.

Jordan has been with GeoSolv for over 12 years, so we asked him to reflect on his time with the company, here is what he had to say:

"I started 13 years ago, we were a much smaller company back then. The size and knowledge base of our team has grown significantly. Having our own machines and field staff has been critical to our growing success. Employee retention at the field level means the lessons learned from challenging conditions is remembered and helps us solve them faster when faced with them again."

Thanks for all the years of hard work, Jordan. We can't wait for more to come!

In honour of earth week, our team took to the streets of our local neighbourhood and did a litter pick up - filling nearly 6 bags full of garbage. Small local efforts like this make a huge impact by keeping our communities clean, protecting wildlife and preventing waste from entering our waterways. We were honestly shocked at how, in just one hour, we uncovered so much waste in such a small area. Moments like this are a powerful reminder that even brief, collective efforts can reveal the scale of the problem-and more importantly, be part of the solution.

Thank you to our friends Paul Hewgill & Yashar Baradaran-Syed of Tensar Americas for joining us in our Earth Week efforts, proving that every extra helping hand makes a *litter* bit of a difference! 😉🌍

At GeoSolv, it is proven that we believe in strong foundations. However, that goes beyond our ground improvements solutions.

That's why we are excited to launch the GeoSolv 1000 Wellness Challenge - a team-wide initiative focused on building energy, resilience, sustainable healthy habits all while having fun along the way.

Launched on April 1st, this 9 month challenge will have our Solv'rs working towards developing simple yet consistent habits that support both mental health and physical movement - because when we support, encourage, and invest in each other…We build something stronger than any foundation system... we build community!

Participants will track daily activities, earn points, and work toward rewards while engaging in wellness events and team activities throughout the year. From meditation and reading to walking, workouts, and group challenges, it’s about progress, not perfection.

This initiative also marks an important milestone as we celebrate 20 years of GeoSolv this year. As we reflect on the past two decades, we are proud to look at the team that built it together. With this challenge, we are able to continue that built success as a stronger & healthier team, ready to take on what's next!

We are excited to share the teams progress with you all & hope it encourages you to invest in yourself & your team!

Stay tuned for updates on GeoSolv's 1000 Wellness Challenge!

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

Earth Day is a reminder that the ground we build on isn’t just a resource. It’s a living system that supports everything above it.

At GeoSolv, we see firsthand how soil, water, and ecosystems are deeply connected. The decisions made below the surface can have lasting impacts on the environment, whether it’s how we manage excess soils, protect groundwater, or navigate changing site conditions.

We have made the commitment to understand the ground, its limits, and our responsibility to work with it consciously.

Whether it’s on the job site or in your homes, we encourage you all to recognize the role the ground beneath us plays in sustaining our communities and the importance of treating it with care.

In honour of Earth week, it is only fitting that we dive into GeoSolv's central focus: "We Fix Dirt."

At GeoSolv, that mindset comes from years of challenging the default approach to soil problems with a method that is environmentally conscious. Instead of over-excavating and replacing, we focus on improving what’s already there - delivering faster, more cost-effective solutions while reducing unnecessary disruption.

But the impact goes far beyond construction.

Soil is a living, functional system essential to environmental health. It stores carbon, supports biodiversity, and regulates water flow. When we dig and replace it, we’re not only displacing material but we’re also disrupting a system that sustains ecosystems, climate regulation, and overall environmental function.

By improving soils in place, we:
-Avoid sending large volumes of material to landfill
-Reduce trucking, emissions, and imported fill
-Preserve natural soil structure and performance
-Minimize site disturbance and environmental impact

On many projects, our ground improvement solutions even eliminate the need to generate and dispose of excess soil altogether-proving that better outcomes don’t have to come at the environment’s expense.

It’s a shift in thinking: We Fix Dirt not replace it.

On your next project, we ask that you consider the natural elements that make it possible for us to build. As The Ground Improvement People™, we’re proud to stand behind a more responsible approach-one that respects the value of the ground beneath our feet.

Happy Earth Week! 🌍
