Job Posting: Plumber Apprentices

A & B Mechanical has been an industry leader since 1989. Providing heating, air conditioning, plumbing and indoor air quality products and services to our customers in Winnipeg and the surrounding areas.

Our vision is to provide a safe and comfortable living space by providing a professional level of service to meet all their clients plumbing, heating, and cooling needs.

We are currently hiring for multiple roles for Plumbing Apprentices for various project sites.

Job Duties:

*Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, drainage, waste, and venting systems
*Install and connect fixtures, piping, valves, and equipment
*Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
*Cut, thread, solder, solvent-weld, and join various pipe types (copper, PVC/ABS, steel)
*Support rough-ins, pressure testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems
*Load, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and company vehicles
*Follow all safety procedures, building codes, and site rules
*Attend in-school technical training as required by Apprenticeship Manitoba

Qualifications:

*Registered (or eligible to register) as a Plumbing Apprentice with Apprenticeship Manitoba - level 2-4
*Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license
*Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position, including material handling and *work in varied job-site conditions, with reasonable accommodation where required
*Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn
*Ability to take direction and work well as part of a crew
*CSA-approved steel-toe boots

Assets (Not Required):

*Prior plumbing or construction experience, or completed Level 1-4 training
*WHMIS certification or other safety training
*Experience with hand and power tools
*Basic knowledge of plumbing codes and blueprints

We are currently hiring for an HVAC Journeyman for various project sites.

Job Duties:

*Install, repair and maintain equipment used for air distribution and in residential and commercial buildings
*Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
*Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial HVAC fixtures and systems
*Climb ladders / working at heights
*Work outside in all weather
*Work in mechanical rooms
*Use various power tools, lifting, general labour duties as needed

Qualifications:

*Valid driver's license
*Motivation to complete tasks in a timely manner
*Ability to follow instruction
*Gas fitting experience and B Gas ticket an asset
*Mechanical aptitude, diagnostic instincts
*Ability to work with others or independently on assigned tasks
*Professionalism, excellent time management and communication skills
