Just because you had your shingles replaced by the guy your insurance adjuster told you to use, doesn’t mean it was done well. In this case, old flashings were reused and the attic vents were installed wrong. Poor workmanship by “preferred vendors” is actually quite common.

That was one of the most intense storms ever in Winnipeg! It lasted for hours. Very soon your feed will be full of “fully qualified “ roofers offering to give you a free hail inspection. If some dude on the internet offered you a free haircut, would you let him? How about a free massage? 😂

In the meantime, this is my new foster pup! She’s extremely shy and will likely take weeks to open up to us. That’s ok, we have lots of time for you❤️

A raccoon made his way into this homeowner attic. The pest control guys wrapped the area in mesh and figured that was good enough. We loosened the trough, removed the fascia, and removed the old damaged and smelly soffit. Then we put it all back together incorporating animal control screen into the soffit nicely for a better final look.

The way the wind whips off the pond in the back of the house and between the two houses is crazy! There was hardly a breeze today and I was having a hard time holding onto the loose shingles on the roof. The high sustained winds from the storm last week loosened off a large area of shingles. I carefully removed the shingles one by one, which was difficult and time consuming. A great number of the fasteners had just pulled through the shingle. Then I reinstalled them, adding additional nails for better holding power. It was a beautiful sunny spring day in Winnipeg!
