Is gray gone for good? We get asked that a lot, and the short answer? it is for now.

Warm tones are back in a big way. Think natural oak. Earthy browns. Mid-century modern textures. It’s less “cool and minimal,” more “collected and cozy.”

That doesn’t mean your home has to look like a thrift store haul (although vintage is very in). It just means people are craving warmth, comfort, and spaces that feel lived in, not showroom perfect.

If you’re building a kitchen, don’t make this common mistake: playing it too safe with your backsplash.

It might feel like an afterthought, but your backsplash is one of the most eye-catching elements in your kitchen, and a huge opportunity to bring personality and polish into the space.

Here’s why it matters, and how to get it right:

It’s a focal point. Your backsplash sits right at eye level. Whether it’s bold or subtle, make sure it complements the overall style of your kitchen.

It ties everything together. Cabinets, counters, and lighting it all connects through the backsplash. Use it to unify the look.

It works hard. This is a high-splash zone, after all. Choose materials that clean easily and hold up over time.

Our go-to advice:

âś” Think beyond white subway tile (unless you love it, then go for it!).
âś” Use samples in your actual lighting before making a final call.
✔ Don’t be afraid of texture or pattern, they can add quiet depth or big drama.
âś” Consider grout colour (yes, it matters).

Is open concept timeless or tired? We get asked this all the time. Some homeowners still dream of wide-open spaces where the kitchen flows into the living room. And for good reason! It’s social, it’s spacious, and it feels like freedom.
