I do not understand how or why an electrician would even consider this as an appropriate way to run line voltage into a handicap operator (or frankly anything) considering there is a KO for it within 6” on the side.

We don’t post much for social media…. Why? Because we’re too busy working and learning.

In this picture are two handicap operators. One with a cover on and one with the cover off.

We were hired to install the one that has the cover. The other one? Installed by the people who “did it for less”. We were asked to look at the one without the cover to see if we could get it to work. Thankfully after fixing the wiring and changing the programming, it was up and running. Yes, they will be charged for our time and knowledge. And they may need to go buy another cover for $400 as the original one cannot be found. After it’s said and done it will have cost them substantially more to “save money”.

There’s something to be said about hiring qualified professionals in the first place.
