If you live on a back lane, this is what you need 👌

This Elmwood homeowner wanted their backyard fully enclosed, but they still needed to pull their cars in and out from the lane. Simple ask, and we had a simple solution.

Up front we ran a 4-foot black chain link fence — clean, open, and it holds the boundary without closing off the yard. Then at the back lane we built a sliding gate combo with a pedestrian gate built right into it.

Here’s a tip I give every homeowner getting a sliding gate: opt for the built-in pedestrian gate. You don’t want to be sliding that big gate open every single time you head out back.

Taking out the garbage, carrying something in or out you just use the pedestrian gate. Way easier, day to day 👍

This deluxe build replaced a fence that was held up by who knows what 😅

The old 4x4 fence in St. Vital had seen better days and was leaning on whatever it could find on the far side of the yard. Time for a real upgrade.

We built 145 feet of our deluxe fence standing six and a half feet tall, taller, sturdier, and built to actually stay standing for the long haul.

Every job throws a few curveballs, and this one was no different. A couple of things came up mid-project, but that’s where a good crew earns its keep.

Our guys problem-solved on the fly, handled everything professionally, and still wrapped up on a solid timeline 👍

The homeowners couldn’t be happier, and honestly, so are we 😎

We ran into a tree in the middle of this fence line. Here’s what our crew did about it 🌲

We replaced this homeowner’s 5-foot chain link with a 6-foot privacy plus wood fence, board-on-board, so there’s total privacy and no gaps opening up between the boards over time. It’s the style we always recommend for pools.

But the part I want to highlight is the tree.

Running into trees along a fence line is one of the most common problems we deal with, and every one needs its own custom solution.

On this job, our installers stopped the fence on either side of the trunk and cut a detailed notch around it, no huge ugly gaps, just a clean wrap that works with the tree instead of against it 👌

Honestly? I think it looks great. It gives the whole fence some character you’d never get otherwise.

That’s the difference a crew that cares makes. A fence like this changes the entire feel of a backyard, and you notice it every single day.

There’s a reason cedar is the fence people fall in love with 🔥

We built 100 feet of 4-foot cedar on this corner lot in Fort Garry, and it completely reshaped how the homeowners use their backyard.

The fence wraps the garden beautifully and ties right into the back driveway, where we opened up a parking area so they can now fit two vehicles.

Two custom lattice sections and an ornamental gate pull the whole look together 👌

One thing worth knowing if you’re considering cedar: the homeowners sealed theirs with Thompson’s WaterSeal about two weeks after installation.

That’s exactly what we recommend.

Cedar is a gorgeous product, and a little protection early keeps it looking that way for years.

New dog, big open backyard, no fence. Sound familiar? 🐶

We were out in River East for this one, 250 feet of 4-foot black chain link around a wide open yard.

The homeowner had just gotten a dog and needed the space closed in so they could let him off leash, but they didn’t want to spend a fortune and they didn’t want to lose that open, airy feel of the backyard either.

Black chain link was the perfect call.

It’s one of the most affordable ways to fence a big yard in Winnipeg, it barely interrupts the view, and it does exactly what it needs to do, hold the boundary and keep the dog where he belongs 👌

Now they’ve got a safe yard and a very happy dog 😎
